Oh, you mean Labyrinth, Sith, and Rise of Vader, right?

Pretty much anything by Zahn and Luceno were great.
Yep.

And the RoTS novel is canon.

And agreed, anything by those two turned out awesome, best Star Wars writers out there.

I'd def read anything Zahn. The Thrawn trilogy pretty much set the standard as far as the novels go. The Kevin Anderson novels I enjoyed as well.

Something non Star Wars but good sci-fi, written by Timothy Zahn is the Conquerors' Trilogy (Conquerors' Pride, Conquerors' Heritage and Conquerors' Legacy). Very good reads.

The Zahn trilogy helped show Lucas that demand was out there for new material. He started the prequels just 3 years after the Thrawn trilogy, and he used several pieces in the movies, like Coruscant for example.

I'm really stunned they non-cannoned that trilogy.

To me, that was the 7-8-9 we needed. Those books on screen would be ridiculous.

No prob at all. Hope you find some of the material and let us know what you think as you get thru it all.

Awesome posts man :hat

I'm doing the chronological clone wars right now even though I already watched them straight through once. Def like it better chronological and saw the movie for the first time which was exactly the same except seemed to have more intensity, or be more movie like, I guess because of the soundtrack.

What do you think about the upcoming 20 books/novels/comics all dropping at once a month before the movie? Wish they'd drop them now. Kinda wack it's all at once.

Side note: What am I looking at in your avy? :x

Jessica Alba, tanning.

No way I'll get thru everything a month before the movie comes out, but I understand the marketing aspect it will drive their motivations. I can catch up on the reading part any time tho, I didn't read the prequel books until after the prequels were finished, and it was fine by me.

Honestly, I kind of prefer to see the movie first anyway, and then use the books for background info, as opposed to the other way around.

Yeah for real, thanks for the abundance of info regarding the books. Gonna print out this list and decide where to start!

I love the new Star Wars canon you don't need them to understand the movies or vice versa you don't really new to know anything other than the films but if you do go further into canon its just a little more info or Easter eggs.

Also anybody else think darth plagueis is anakin "father" & that's why palpatine chose him to be his apprentice if its true it really ironic [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

I appreciate all the info in here guys. I sometimes forget about this thread because I tend to just hang around S & T these days. I've been a fan since I was a kid. Born in '81 so I consider myself knowledgeable but you could always learn more :hat

Interesting theory, but I would have to think it over several times. Would be a cool circular way of looking at it, but I don't think it was intended to be that way, at least I haven't heard of it as such.

Darth Plagueis is a Munn so probably not

I don't think he meant knocked up Shmi, I think he meant did Plagieus "create" Anakin in Shmi?

That's how I took his question.

The EU answer for the Plagueis/Anakin question from the Plagueis book was that the Force 'created' Anakin in response to Plagueis, Plagueis's Master and Sidious throwing the Force out of balance with the crazy experiments they were doing involving life and death.

When Plagueis first saw/heard of Anakin his first thought was seriously/literally "**** what have I done, the Force made this dude to kill us"

Again, that's not canon now, but the Darth Plagueis book was written with consultation from George Lucas, and around the same time the St was being sold to Disney. So honestly I still view it as official :lol
