it was... i grew of age during da dark moody comics...i need slapstick Spidey but i need adult parker.

Ninja, you sir have been repped and quoted for truth.

Can we also give Pete for loving the chocolate girls! Him and Barry Allen on that come up!

I think Zendaya looks better in libtard grunge bookworm mode.

I need me a girl that don't **** with the historical landmarks built by slaves :hat

The bigger issue for me is Flash Thompson.

I thought it was a good take. Rather than the physically menacing bully, they used a puny, rich, privileged kid who was verbally bullying him.

Modern bullying is done with words nowadays.

this part...
They clearly wanted her to be Michelle and that MJ just happens to be a dumb decision on their part, which many assumes is a jab to the audience thinking she was MJ.

And yes I do see them calling her Michelle in the sequel and wouldn't be surprised if Mary Jane Watson appears somewhere in Hollands tenure as Peter.

You keep "assuming" and reaching and won't just simply accept what the producers or directors ever say, it's like dude they said she isn't Mary Jane, really should be the end of it by now but you keep reaching.

Just pointing out the fact that she was paired with Tom Holland for a lot of the promotional tour and pics. She had the least amount of screen time out of that whole little breakfast club group. Laura Harrier was the love interest and wasn't at the forefront of promotion as much as Zendaya was. Now granted it's because she's big with kids and teens but still a missed opportunity from Marvel to really back her and stand by the decision it seems they're leaning toward. Regardless it's really a non issue. I love this film so much.

I watched Amazing Spider-Man 2 last night and scoffed :o I'm sorry Andrew Garfield, I don't know who you are anymore :o :o

I actually like Revolori as Flash because he was annoying for no reason. He didn't really pick on Peter but he's that dude you wouldn't mind beating up. He's what a bully in 2017 would be, all talk.

Side note: did anyone catch the branzino reference flash made? Saying he knows Branzino and it wasn't fresh was a dig at ASM 1. That's the dish that Gwen's mother made for dinner when Peter came over. Saying it wasn't "fresh" was a tongue in cheek mention at the reception to ASM :lol

They should have casted a Flash that was taller and athletic looking. All he had over Peter was some money.

He seemed more socially adept too. Homie was DJ'ing a senior party and driving to school ....in Queens.....driving an Audi at that.

The guy from Edge of Seventeen is the epitome of Flash Thompson. :lol

I mean agree it didn't work butnend of the day, Flash Thompson don't really matter.

That guy aint ever getting the Venom symbiote.

You don't think Flash is an important part of Spider-Man's Peter Parker life well into the college stories?

And I forgot....THE ONLY REASON HE WAS CALLED FLASH WAS BECAUSE HE WAS A FOOTBALL STAR :rollin

Son is ******* irrelevant.

He plays the bully for a while, slightly grows out of that, and then to this weird friend zone.

After that its alcoholism and becoming a soldier. Oh and that one time Norman got him drunk and made him have some truck driving accident.

But we're not talking about comics or even cartoons. Its the movies. Flash won't and really shouldn't be an important part of Peter's life. Its why he was a nons factor in the last 2 versions (was there even a Flash for the ASM reboot? 8o ).

I can't think of a HS/college story involving Flash that needs to be on the big screen.

So yeah I get from a comic perspective how they ****** things up but from the kind of Flash we did get it just shows they don't really think the comic version is worth it.

Isn't Flash representative of Spider-Man's very small support platform during the menace days? Wasn't there the powerful irony of Flash hating Peter and helping out Spider-Man every chance he got?

Isn't he the main comedic and dramatic foil to Peter in high school? Didn't he appear as such in damn near every early issue?

Doesn't he represent Peter's extreme humility due to the amount of times he refused to let Spider-Man spill over into his social life (touched on at Liz's party)? Physicality, shallow popularity, and arrogance vs intelligence, pariah-ness, and humility?

Wouldn't this be a decent narrative investment if we're stuck with three movies of HS Pete? But we got Philipino Ganke tho.

Wasn't he the entire reason Peter met Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn in the first place (and the reason they both disliked him at first)?

Don't downplay Flash bruh. You know you read these damn stories :lol Penis Parker :|

And yes Flash was in ASM; he beat Peter's *** in the beginning then apologized at the end when he realized what he was going through...unless you were being sarcastic

Flash beat the crap out of Peter in the first 5mins of the ASM reboot. It's how Gwen and Peter had their first conversation

In todays time, bruh prolly would've been arrested for that ***whoopin he gave Peter in ASM.

That's true and all but honestly nobody gives that much of a **** :lol. He's truly not important.

In a HS in queens. So what?
Wasn't there the powerful irony of Flash hating Peter and helping out Spider-Man every chance he got?
Powerful :lol I mean if it meant a lot to you I guess.

I could go either way on irony being relevant to the storytelling.

Isn't he the main comedic and dramatic foil to Peter in high school? Didn't he appear as such in damn near every early issue?
He was a bully and at the same time a Spidey fanboy.

Describing it as dramatic and comedic foil and referencing the quantity of his appearances in relation to that just shows he was a frequently used bit.

Doesn't he represent Peter's extreme humility due to the amount of times he refused to let Spider-Man spill over into his social life (touched on at Liz's party)? Physicality, shallow popularity, and arrogance vs intelligence, pariah-ness, and humility?

Again, this is why I don't even think the writers consider any of that worth putting on the screen.

Showcasing Peter's humility and refusal to let that Spidey side show as he continues the facade of nerdy HSer can be portrayed in many ways.

Wasn't he the entire reason Peter met Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn in the first place (and the reason they both disliked him at first)?
Again we're talking about the movie not comics.

That something you definitely change in a movie script.

Besides in this example, you can not give me a reason why this lame Flash can't do/cause the same situation to happen.

But get this Feige is not looking to redo villains we've already seen so talking about meeting Harry and Gwen is a moot point.

Don't downplay Flash bruh. You know you read these damn stories :lol Penis Parker :|

I legit forgot about him.

I just think you're too stuck on the comics. I'm not saying Flash is irrelevant to Spidey comics. I'm saying his importance in the movies is minimal. He has no impact. We literally now have 3 versions to prove that :lol

The Peter Parker HS teenage movie stories they're doing doesn't include Flash as some long lasting critical supporting character. He may not grow at all until the 3rd movie where he apologizes or disappears.

I feel the only reason he even makes it to the sequel is cuz of the actor's comedy skill and overall acting chops.

Who played Flash in that movie? 8o

For me, ASM just isn't worth rewatching and ASM2 for other reasons. So if Flash was in these movies I just forgot about him.

Right now the only other Flash from a Spidey movie I vaguely remember is Joe Mangojello.

I really need a picture :lol

If we talking the first ASM I haven't seen that in years.

Oooooohhhhh ok.

Homey from The Leftovers was the second Flash. Meh :lol

Also, that entire scene reminded me why I haven't watched ASM in so long. Plus I still got Raimi vibes from that (in a bad way). Didn't Tobey also have some basketball scene?

That entire scene was anti-Peter Parker :lol Literally was just brought up by KingdomFlatbush KingdomFlatbush to me when talking about Flash and the role he played as a supporting character :{
