I'm laughing at you saying golly though.
I can agree it's probably Spike's intent to make it a metaphor for any major city with these problems but then what I said can kinda still apply. How many times does a wake up call need to be presented to the masses in this format until something is done about it? or there's change just so that after a decade and some change things degrade back to mass violence and senseless death?
Something needs to be presented, other than what is now. What's the alternative, Madea Christmas Part 2?
Change isn't going to happen overnight, because there are a lot of people trying to clean up the cities.
The movie should provide talking points to discuss and build off of, which is why I was disappointed to come in here and see a bunch of Chance The Rapper type complaints of what they think the movie is about. I hope that brotha sees this movie, so he can see how wrong he was.
