As of right now...DC and Detroit are like polar opposites...I don't know what the hell dude is talking about.

Only a loyal native would rather live in Detroit than DC...

When's the last time you heard of somebody taking a vacation to Detroit?

QFT

My brother @ Howard said his friends from Detroit didnt even want to go back there for the summer, they told him its miserable..

Oh and DC Houses>>>Detroit.
Condos in DC @ 280k
Townhomes even in SE (East Capitol) 250k
Houses in Georgetown and upper NW 990k-1.3Mil

@ people thinking Detroit will make a comeback. GM is STILL Laying off workers, thats what happens when a city relies on just ONE industry instead of branching out to other indutries. May I need to remind you of N.O. and how the houses are STILL bad and not of much worth due to Katrina??
1.3 mil for G'Town is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too low.

That price may get you a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom joint w. no parking spot.

Dude is obviously misinformed about tellin DC dudes to keep quiet on this.....

That wasnt my point...its DC.

You can't be serious..

I'm sure you're trying to make fun of the AIDS rates and it's not funny, joe.

BTW, you live in FLA, the rates are not much better there either.

Detroit will come back like any other large city..It will be revived..Baltimore City comes to mind when i see those pics..There used to be streets youcouldn't walk on in the city..now the streets are flooded with tourists and million dollar condos..In the city at least..Dont get me wrong its stillrough..but downtown areas tend to be able to revive and retool themselves..

How is Detroit prime...I don't follow that argument all.

Location serves some purpose, but having no stable infrastructure at all will keep these prices at a plateau at best.

If you don't live in the D and you want to cop...good luck, I'd love to know what the ultimate return on investment is since you'd probably bedealing with squatters, vandalism, and theft (as common in most construction sites, regardless).

I do agree w ninjahood, though the pictures were of extremely dilapidated but the overall design of what it used to be is pretty awesome...beats cookie cuttertract homes.

he doesnt have one Q46totheE

DC is the Nation's Capitol, although majority of the workers in DC live in VA and MD, the there isnt just ONE industry. Detroit had fewer industries thatnever looked toward a future.

DC has the Federal Govt buildings, DC Govt Buildings, Universities, Metro, Tourism, we have more than one industrty so if one of the lesser industires fail, weare still to the good.

Using multi colored font doesn't help your argument either.

Ideal position geographically? I guess being "ideal" in relation to exporting to Canada is somewhat decent.

A huge labor force is good for what in America nowadays? The textile industry that left in the mid 20th century? The auto industry? What so special about Detroit that certain industries will flock there?

You seriously need to ****. You don't know what you're talking about. You're making way too many assumptions that have no basis in logic when it actually comes to economics.

btw, It's Binghamton. Not Binghampton.

Go ahead. Put your money where your mouth. Why not, you'll become wealthy in the process, right?
Kids on NT love to talk.
laugh.gif

Yeah...you're definitely a lame...

You're talking about "facts" and "logic" and yet, all you have in defense of your sorry excuse of an argument are opinions--the core ofwhich revolves around the notion that "I don't know what I'm talking about...", and nothing else. Provide real evidence that validates yoursilly assertion that "I don't know what I'm talking about..." . Provide evidence that shows that Detroit has NO FUTURE. I'll wait...

You know what, there's no need for me to wait--you know why, because YOU don't have access to such evidence. In fact, no one does, and this is merely aresult of the FUTURE being a mystery, a complex of things yet to happen. Additionally, you're trying to criticize me for making assumptions, but in adiscussion concerning the state of things yet to happen, what else can one do but assume. Truth is, you're making assumptions your damn self so go'headand miss me with that bullshnitz...

Your facultative simplicity is all too apparent when you ask an asinine question like, "a huge labor force is good for what in Americanowadays?"...go to places (cities) like NY, LA, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Austin (just to name a few) and ask them "what good is a huge laborforce...?"...count how many stonefaces you get after posing that question. Furthermore, it would seem as though, in that fantasy world of yours, a hugelabor force = uneducated, unspecialized people. As you imply, the type of people capable of working ONLY within the "textile" and"automotives" industry within factory settings. Rigghhhttttt...
eyes.gif

At this point, I won't even address anything else you have to say because I've already addressed what is relevant, and countered any other facileattempts you can dream up. Second, you have nothing worthwhile to add to this discussion but your silly and comical opinions--so why should I even bother, especially when "fact" and "logic" is what we would hope for...like what I presented in my colorful second post. Also, you should knowthat, my second post was "colorful" simply because I figured someone of your capacity would appreciate it--you know, just because...word to"kids on NT"...
