http://www.dell.com/us/en...eals&s=dhs&cs=19

Take the remaining 750$ and get this refurb Asus (core 2, dedicated graphics, slightly outdated but not obsolete tech) for http://www.tigerdirect.co...Y-SnPaGcPNP0TwruVQ3ZYXyg 700- (15%BCB)= 595$

or just go for the i7 Toshiba laptop w/ 512 mb dedicated gpu, eSata, HDMI, etc. for 900$ and I think Bing is 8% off or you can usually buy coupons from ejunkie.com

http://www.bestbuy.com/si...=01&id=1218154377801

or if you don't game and thusly can live with integrated graphics, pay like 700$ on toshibadirect.com for the entry level i7

The OS working in almost perfection with the hardware is what people are paying the premium for. You can hackintosh all you want but it's not the same thing.

The specs might LOOK slower than a PC but the way the OS uses the hardware is very efficient and performs faster and with more reliability than a PC uses Windows.

I have a 12" Apple PowerBook I bought in 2004 and it's still running JUST AS FAST as it was on the day I took it out of the box. I've had NO viruses, NO spyware, NO blue screen of death, none of that crap.

I also have an iMac which I bought 3 years ago and it's still running JUST AS FAST as it did on day one.

So do you want a laptop that'll last a long time if you take care of it? Then get a Mac.

well seeing how the blue screen of death is for pc only.. might be the reason why you haven't gotten one?

Exactly. And that's my point. I've never gotten an error like that at all.

I was a PC fan up until 2004 when I switched to Mac and I will never prefer to use Windows over Mac's OS.

i just bought a dell inspiron 15 for 630 because i got a company discount. it came with 500gb hard drive, 4 gb RAM, I5 duo core processor, the upgrade wifi card, and a webcam. So far I love it and I would recommend you going on dell.com and customizing your own inspiron or studio laptop for your own needs.

Works for me, just go to dell.com click popular deals, then Netbooks.

Yea Audi, maybe the one I posted is OD for you but you never know. You might all of sudden get addicted to World of Warcraft or something while at a friend's house. But if not, honestly as long as what you get has a Core 2 Duo processor then, you'll be good and you can cut enough off that price to get you around or below 500$

If I can get this laptop for 1500$, I'm all over it http://cgi.ebay.com/ASUS-...ov05?hash=item2a0491b5f3 I know the specs are OD, and I don't even game nor am I an audip or video phile where I can look at 720p then 1080p and notice a difference and be upset by it. I just wish they made a 15 inch version. But seriously, what even uses that type resources? People always talk about Photoshop and rendering programs as a memory hogs, but I used to have it on my last computer which if I remember correctly is like a Pentium M with 1gb.

lmao. so, not getting a blue screen of death.. which doesnt even happen on macs (you got the grey screen, that tells you absolutely nothing.. at least the blue one tells you what went wrong) is a plus for macs? i kind of feel sorry for you. and your last statement can go towards pcs also. anything you take care of will last u a long time. and with pcs u can upgrade (desktops at least) enjoy your locked down mac.

I'm waiting on the new refresh of Apple's laptops, specifically the MacBook Pros.

So I'd wait for Apple to make their announcements about their laptops before purchasing a PC. The way they priced the iPad was very much lower than everyone expected an Apple product should be priced and maybe that'll be the same with their new line of laptops?

im def gonna wait, thanks

They do have a 15 inch in the G series with core i7 cpu and 260 gtx gpu.  I've owned the last gen. G series and the casing is cheap.  Also cooling isn't that great under heavy gaming, but it is the best bang for your buck.

lookin to buy this at the end of the month.

HP-G62t.jpg

(my customized specs)

intel i5 2.26GHz w/ turbo boost to 2.54GHz or so.

3GB RAM DDR3

250 GB HDD 7200 RPM

W7 Home (64 bit i think)

+webcam

all for about $790 after tax. for the price i can't pass it up. yea it looks like a macbook which is a plus to me but the damn thing has better specs than a macbook at almost half the price. what do you guys think?
