SO I THINK MY FATHER IN LAW HAS BEEN HIT BY VOODOO

They tried to say AT FIRST
That it was delerium
And many patients have that
While at the hospital but will go back to normal after leaving
But he didn’t start acting weird
Until his first stay when we brought him home
And it’s gradually gotten worse
In less than 3 weeks
U would think it’s dementia or something
But it don’t happen like THIS
That fast
His mom had dementia
So I guess u could say
He could have history of it
But not manifest like this
That bad
In 3 weeks
Dude is seeing all types of ghosts
Who keep tryna feed him
And getting mad cause we don’t see em
What was he there for during the initial stay?

Also, kidney transplant?

You said his mom had dementia and that’s a very hereditary disease. I’ve interacted w/ some people w/ it myself. Have you had a cat scans ran on him?

Also, kidney transplant?
Kidney transplant happened in 08
But he has other health issues as well including diabetes
Which has him seeing his doctor regularly
Going to the lab regularly
Doing his blood pressure every day
Stuff like that
But his initial stay
Was he fell on some stairs
Bumped his leg and it got bad
Almost like an infection
He also developed cellulitis
They gave him antibiotics
He was there for a week
They sent him home
But when he came home he was different
Could barely walk
Needed a walker
Could barely hold a spoon to feed himself
And would start talking jibberish or nonsense
Like if u had a convo with him about something
Like say what’s on tv today
He would start talking about something random like salt and or touching
Stuff not there
And would be restless at night
Talking and screaming all night in his sleep
And moving his hands and fidgeting all night in his sleep

I'd imagine nephro and neuro are already being consulted on him. Is he followed by a hospitalist or a community physician while he's admitted?

So acknowledge it more?
Voodoo is the term I used
But In the Philippines
It’s completely different
And growing up
They believe in that stuff anyway
So no going back
On trying not to acknowledge it
They STAY telling me the story
About how some gnomes or elves
Messed up his face back in the Philippines when he was young
Cause he stepped on their house/village
And his mom swears the ashwang
Or whatever tried to get her one night
When she had to go outside to use the bathroom
She said she held it the whole night
And didn’t go outside to the lil shack thing to use it
When she was pregnant with my wife’s older brother
Back in the Philippines

Hospitalist = HBS???
If so then yeah the doctor in that particular dept or ward is consulting with other specialists

So acknowledge it more?

i do not believe in any type of "voodoo"
some of my relatives in the Philippines do.
If they are looking into if someone over there "did something" then someone BELIEVES in it.

If they believe in voodoo and curses etc, they most likely believe in a cure.
its all a mental thing.

after my grandfather died one of my uncles started freaking out saying he was seeing all kinds of "spirits" and he couldnt sleep.
for some reason some one told him to wear all red and he said it worked.

i know it sounds ridiculous and again, i dont believe in voodoo, but if THEY believe in it
then they probably believe there is some kind of non medical cure.

if it is medical then just disregard all this.

but yea, older pinoys believe in that stuff.

im not trying to be funny or anything just something that came to my mind,
i hope he recovers from whatever it is.

probably medical

So the doctor is based out of the hospital and doesn't have a private practice? If so, good. Private practice doctors are spread too thin to adequately care for acute care patients, in my opinion.

How does his leg look now?
The nephrologist is definitely following his renal function through his bloodwork. What tests have the neurologist ordered?

Gma (rip) was one of those healer types that folks came to when they were evil sick (puke tevolo Tongan culture)
I remember them always talking about cold spots in your body that DR’s Or meds can’t get to. And that’s the reason for a lot of the sickness.
find or seek an old school Filipino healer around the bay and take him there.

Nah they at an actual big hospital
Kaiser
Not sure which tests were done today
But they running them again Tomorrow
I know mri was one of em
They don’t wanna do it again today
Cause they gonna have to sidate him
And he already had a bunch of stuff today
And with his kidneys
They don’t wanna overdo it
And the leg is healing
Like how u would expect an old person leg to heal
So nothing alarming

I was about to feel bad until I read voodoo

That **** is for the weak willed. Especially that voodoo witch doctor moko jumbie ****.

Understandable. Alert people have a hard enough time tolerating MRIs as is, and his kidneys are already in a fragile state.

Neurological issues are particularly frustrating to deal with as patients and families because of how much is still left unknown.

Could delirium be a component? Sure. Could there be an onset of underlying dementia? Maybe, but hard to say right now. Unfortunately I don't think you're gonna get any legit answers from NT.

Having said that, let the shenanigans commence.
