the black leather on the 2015s was plastic compared to the orange leather. the sail leather was good but the star of the leather discussions when it comes the OG SBB's was the orange/starfish leather.

In need of a sibling
Same. I need these on principle.Prefer these to the SBB 1, but would rather just have Chicagos than either.

Let’s call this release what it is: a cash grab from Nike/JBWent out to Champs today to see if they had a pair on display and they did.
I can now say with absolute certainty that the leather on the 2015s is infinitely better and it’s not close.
Doesn’t mean the 2025s aren’t a good shoe worth having, but any shoetuber saying the materials aren’t that far apart are flat wrong.
This is definitely true.Differences seem to be bigger swoosh, thicker cut black leather, embossed wings logo, new J1 shape, and ofc different box on the 25 pair. Someone said they couldve put the new swoosh on the 2015 pair and they’d be the happiest and I kinda agree. The changes overall are a net positive, wish the starfish orange leather was more on the natural soft pig skin side of things but the 25 orange leather will be more durable over time so its a toss up.
This is definitely true.
Regarding the starfish orange, they seemed to have changed the color from the 2015s to be duller for some stupid reason.
I get that they didn’t want to give us the same high quality leather used on the 2015 as they need to increase their profit margins per pair sold but changing the color was completely unnecessary and avoidable:

This makes sense but it’s not like they couldn’t source a similar calf. I’m sure they have many pairs of 2015s to use as reference models. Also, it still doesn’t explain why they unnecessarily changed the color of the starfish orange. Seems like they did this to differentiate it from the 2015s.The brand used the same process as the 2015 version. You can’t replicate the the same hide they had in 2015 because it was sourced from a different calf.
Yep… should be to me tomorrowI placed an order early Saturday morning on SNKRS. The status shows “shipped,” but when I check the tracking it just says “package ready for carrier pickup,” and it’s been stuck like that since Sunday. Has anyone else’s package actually been picked up yet?

Ummmmm, you don’t think the intention of literally every product they release is a cash grab? Thats the point of a business.Let’s call this release what it is: a cash grab from Nike/JB
They could have made these in comparable quality to the 2015s but that would have definitely cost more in terms of materials/production.
Don’t get me wrong though, this is still a solid release and I’m glad all the people who like the cw can get them at retail but, quality wise, this is closer to Green Glows than 2015 SBBs.
“High Quality Leather”This is definitely true.

FTFY“Higher Quality Leather”
Wow. So in 10 years we really went from a great release with Chinese-crafted pairs with 9.2/10 materials to Indonesian-made pairs with 8/10 materials? These looking nice in hand, , on the net the orange looked different depending on the pic.
All my pics are took in natural light ,no filter.
The outdoor pics best show how these look in person ..![]()

Definitely going in for 2nds around the $150 mark.
Fwiw, this pair was manufactured in Indonesia, , materials used Id say are a 8/10 imo.
The orange leather isnt like the '15 version,
('15 orange leather Id rate a 9.2/10),
but its pretty good imo.
