just so youre aware Its impossible for these to be low grade , the label below clearly states these are ''Guaranteed'' A-1 quality, legally Nike cant lie to us...

But all jokes aside , the orange & sail leather are pretty good on these, not the pinnacle but good none the less., imo.

It’s funny to me when so-called leather experts continue to think softer leather means better leather LOL.

These folks must not have been around or don’t remember shoes from the 80s and 90s when the harder, thicker leather was prevalent on a lot Jordans that were meant to be used on the hardwood

Peep what Nightwing says in the first minute of this video and enlighten yourselves

Just fyi, the leather on the 2025 White Cement 4s is the BEST leather on 4s since the OG’s. And everyone who is saying it’s stiff and hard therefore it sucks have absolutely no clue what they’re saying.

I owned three different color ways of the OG’s in ‘89 and played in them in H.S. so I definitely would make a proper and accurate testimonial.

I owned the 2015 OG SBB’s and the 2025 is a close comparison. In fact I might even like the 2025 even better overall, just gotta put em on feet and rock em for a a couple months before I give the final verdict.

Stiff leather doesn’t automatically = high quality either.

This video by an actual leather quality expert essentially compares the leather on the 85 neutral greys to the leather used on a triple white AF1. Then he cuts open the Shattered Backboards and says the only A grade leather on either shoe is the mid panel leather on the SBBs.

And Nightwing was raving about the NG leather in his review of them.

AF1s vary greatly in quality though. The GR ‘07s have significantly worse leather than other releases, for example.

Dunks are the most egregious release though when it comes to GR vs other releases. The GR Dunks barely can be considered footwear, given how bad the quality is as they are essentially cardboard/plastic.

lmfao @ quality talk still going on about this shoe ten years later. Low IQ discussions. If you want quality footwear, don't buy sneakers.

Had my paraboots on foot the other day at work. Retail was like $630, I paid about $440 on sale. Made in France. They highlight their factory on their website so you know where it's coming from and who's making it. I don't play about my pants, either. Engineered garments fatigues, $270ish retail. Paid like $175 on sale. Made in NYC an hour subway trip away from my home. This ain't a flex. This is an example of me knowing I'm getting cheap crap with mass produced jordans, and seeking out quality when I want or need a quality product. And if you're gonna rock fast fashion or cheap crap from the mall with your mass produced sneakers, what's quality really matter to you anyway?

Are you sure those weren't made in Indonesia? They look like they were made in Indonesia.

I mean there has to be a floor to this-would you be cool with GR Dunk quality on these recent SBBs?

(OT but lowkey, it would be hilarious to see everyone’s reaction to Nike/JB doing something like that lol)

Retail prices are up because it costs more to import **** from just about anywhere. And what is your hard evidence for "cutting corners" and "cheaper production"? You in the factories in Indonesia and China confirming? If it is indeed cheaper to source materials in Indonesia, then I can play your hypothetical, baseless conclusion game to assume that they're paying the same amount for higher quality materials than they would for cheaper quality in China.

And for the millionth time on NT, softness ≠ quality

Here you go, my guy:

https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2025-06-27/nike-soars-on-a-production-shift-away-from-china-but-it-warns-of-a-1-billion-tariff-hit#:~:text=Production in China represents about 16% of,as Nike shifts production elsewhere, he said.

It’s clear that Nike moved production to Indonesia as a production cost saving measure.

Article from 2021: https://harris-sliwoski.com/chinala...tside-china-nike-likes-it-and-you-should-too/

“Nike began international manufacturing early in its history and started in Japan. In the 1980s, the company moved nearly its entire manufacturing efforts to South Korea and Taiwan. In 1981, Nike opened its first factory in China.

Back in the mid-1990s, Jardine Fleming Securities came up with the Swoosh Index, which was its theory that once Nike selects a country for its newest factory site, economic growth, rising stock markets and other foreign companies follow. A Business Week article entitled “The Swoosh Index for Emerging Markets” explained it:

Nike first started using Japanese plants in 1964. When labor costs there climbed in the mid-1970s, it gave South Korea and Taiwan a run. In the 1990s, production jumped to Indonesia and China, which now account for two-thirds of Nike output. Nike pulled back from Thailand recently ahead of a collapse in stock and property prices. Next up: Vietnam. While production there is now only 2% of Nike output, that’s expected to double within a year.

When choosing factory sites, Nike looks for cheap labor. However, it also picks countries with stable–usually authoritarian–leadership, decent infrastructure, a pro-business government, and a liberal trade regime. When it decides to leave, that doesn’t signal the end of prosperity. It often means that countries are ready to move on to high-end manufacturing.”

EDIT: In fact, Nike is even supporting Trump’s policies and pledged to move more production out of China: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c8d6gpnmvq6o.amp

The leather from pair to pair is night and day. I went through multiple pairs at my local FTL (shout out to the worker who I was annoying lol).....and chose the best one. Most of them had that smooth plastic leather feel, which I didn't like. After going through like 5 different pairs I finally found one that was tumbled pebbled textured and plush lol. It actually made me feel like it was really close to the 2015s SBB.

Since these are sitting everywhere, y'all should really take advantage of hand picking your pairs. I honestly would feel ripped off if I got the leather I didn't like. I can see how some ppl say these are trash and then some people saying these are nice. I really comes down to which leather you got, each pair is completely different so everyone got different opinions.
