Nice video, but consulting with a leather expert whose primary focus is on high end leather products for people with big money is a bit odd to be honest. We're talking about mass produced basketball sneakers here. I did take note of what the man said about Nike/JB possibly going the route they did on the '25 SBB to possibly lessen the chance of the leather material breaking down too much over time.

I mean he does comment that he understands these are mass produced.
Either way, he said the 2015s were better quality overall but didn’t exactly rate them very high, relative to other leather footwear, which makes sense since they never were a $400+ retail pair of shoes.

These definitely are “smaller” in toe box. Assuming it’s due to the new mold but these are great man.
These get to 99.97 like the UNC’s did in doubling

LOL…he basically took a dump on the 85 Breds.
So many opinions about how the 85 cut use of thicker, stiffer leather was somehow a repudiation of the longstanding myth that the 2015 SBB had nice leather by JB standards.

I mean it’s a fact that Nike uses cheap leather. To expect anything else would just be silly. That said, some shoes are a lot worse than others. If the price is worth the value to you then so be it. People get really defensive to justify their purchase for whatever reason.

For $185, these aren’t worth retail but at $130 or lower, they are fine for what they are.
