Title says it all.

I can think of many more...and from slavery to the present day there seems to never be a shortage of these types.

at all of the Tyler Perry pictures. Yeah, I don't care about his hustle and how he came up. He has the ability to portray blacks in a better way, but chooses to **** it up with Madea and the typical stereotypes in most of his movies.

I dont know JHawk. I used to have the same position on Tyler Perry but he seems to "try" to throw messages in underneath the *******. I take it like this, most cats don't want to hear nothing positive if its boring, so he found a way to spin it so you dont know he's trying to school you (not me, but somebody lol).

Now Deuce King is onto something... No Herman Cain love?

What is Tyler Perry schooling us on though?

******* in Hollywood is nothing new...but when I think about roles offered to black male actors that required them to rock a dress, I just thought is was the white rich Hollywood execs who wanted that image out there.

In my opinion,  when Dave Chappelle brought up the issue on Oprah, that was a real statement. Also his refusal to wear a dress spoke volumes about his character.

Then you have Tyler Perry who clearly has the resources to paint a different picture, but he just falls back into the same stereotypical pattern.

He's not teaching me nada, but think of the average hood dude that aint going to school or is uninterested in gaining some type of "you gotta do better" knowledge. This is right up their alley.

You only seeing the Madea character. Many of the characters are lawyers, doctors, realtors that struggle with "real" world problems that people from the hood can relate with. In the end of the movie, everybody magically learns a lesson that they should be moving and doing better and I cant hate that

You would be right if his movies were made for the average hood dude. They are not. They are made for single, black Christian women who make up his fanbase.

What did Karl Malone do?

Ask Magic Johnson and Allen Iverson.

As far as Tyler Perry goes, as I said earlier, WE can do without a brotha like that around. Tell that ***** to go put his dress back on and go pander to some more single black women.

:lol what does that mean?
fool what he do

Watch your language champ. To answer your question I'll copy and paste my comments from the 'Karl Malone Appreciation" thread in S&T.

To answer your question, Karl Malone is a house ***** because he tried to blend in with the white people of Utah. There's nothing wrong with a black person wearing cowboy boots, wearing a cowboy hat or driving a 18 wheeler, those are all things Karl Malone did or still does and some would define that as him trying to be white, which I don't wholeheartedly agree. However, Karl Malone is a house ***** because he is a Republican, and he was critical of Allen Iverson for bringing hip hop to the NBA. His stance against A.I. was to try and make black people or the younger black generation look bad in order to make himself look good in front of white people, just so he could get a pat on the back by them. Any black person who is conscious would know or understand why Karl Malone would be viewed as a house *****/sell out. If you still don't think Malone is a house *****, just ask Derrick Coleman.

Also, he came out STRONGLY playing against Magic Johnson in the NBA even AFTER Karl played with Magic on the Dream Team in '92. Just as Magic Johnson said, Malone showed no signs of concern or said nothing negative about playing with Magic while on the Dream Team because he had HIV, so why did he wait till afterwards to finally speak up and say something.

Next time I see them, I will.

I thought you of all people would have known about the Magic Johnson and Allen Iverson story, which is why I said what I said with nothing added to it, my bad though. I answered your question above.

One of these days consider opening a book worth reading.
what does this even mean, what does a book have to do with anything? ive read it a few times and I just cant grasp the concept of what you were trying to say, was this you trying to insult me?

You want to pass assumptions about me; specifically that the only reason I, or anyone, would possibly criticize Obama is if he/she were poor.

So I choose to make assumptions about you; more specifically, that you're an idiot.

I dated a girl from Spain once whose families loved the Tyler Perry movies.

I felt uncomfortable watching them with her family.
