Seattle Times posted a time line of the City Council's decision. Should know something by mid-August. The County Council is a different story. They've outsourced their review, and I just know one of those two councils is going to screw everything up. I'm always going to be pessimistic about it actually happening until there's a shovel in the ground.

I'm the exact opposite. I'm extremely optimistic this gets done and am essentially biding time until ground is broken. It's gotta happen.

NBA isn't expanding anytime soon. Hansen has even said as much. It'll definitely be a current team relocating.

OKC fans don't deserve their team??? The loudest arena in sports?? Sellout games during the 20-62 season?? 5000 people outside the arena??! Sonics are over, get over it. Blame sonics fans for not supporting them enough to keep then. Y'all weren't saying anything when the thunder was in the hole.

i think okc fans do a good job supporting their team. just that clay bennett and his boys stole them. had no intentions on trying to make it work in seattle. at the very least give them their history back, smh.

At a certain point I see Stern stepping in and telling Jordan or the Maloofs they need to get out. The BoG can't be happy with the Maloofs right now, especially. And Stern has to take their concerns seriously. I'm not sure of the rules regarding a forced sale, but I feel like Stern has some sort of sway, especially if he has the backing of the other owners.

^my buddy did a pretty revealing interview with Kevin Johnson saying how pissed off Stern is at the Maloofs still. Both of them are still talking weekly and working together trying to come up with something to make it work.
KJ dropped a disappointing bit of info in that "George, Joe and Gavin have maintained they do not want to sell the team and privately, they even turned down offers that came in higher than the franchise’s worth, which according to Forbes Magazine stands close to $300 million."
I honestly think the only way the Kings relocate/or sell out to another city is if the Maloofs take this to court, and even then the NBA might win that and Stern would have finally saying in keeping the Kings in Sac.

okc fans dont deserve the thunder??? get the heck outta here and never post in here again. if sonic fans were real fans they would of done all this before the move. you guys werent saying anything while the thunder were having a 20 game winning season, but now the salt arises. okc arena is the loudest in basketball. 5-6000 people watch outside the arena...... nuff said
