Ryan Gosling Appreciation Thread

Also, I saw Ryan on campus about 2 months ago, walked right in front of me. Had me shaking

hate getting starstruck. But yes, dude looks exactly the same in real life
Campus? Is dude going to school?

Little known fact, me and Ryan were actually born in the same Canadian city

I watched this last night..... way too much realness and I felt for both the characters too much. Reminded me a lot of me and the ex, minus the kid and all that, but just that struggle and knowing there was an expiration to it all. I feel that. This movie ended with me in tears.
EXACTLY. Movie was so damn powerful and compelling, especially towards the end.

Fun Fact: Williams and Gosling actually lived together for several months before filming. They lived like a real life couple with a budget and expenses and everything.

I actually read that. Anytime I finish a movie and I've thoroughly enjoyed it, I always wikipedia and dig up as much info about that flick as I can

Yep, I do the exact same thing. I get bummed when the movie ends so I try to prolong the viewing "experience" by reading up info about the movie

^^^ Definitely on my list of top 10 perfect .gif executions I've ever seen on NT :lol :hat

Gosling is my favorite actor. I've seen almost every film he's done and I'm always following his career.

My favorite Gosling performances:

1. Blue Valentine
2. Drive
3. Crazy Stupid Love

He's very versatile - the upcoming Place Beyond the Pines has me on the edge of my seat as well as Only God Forgives and Gangster Squad. 2011 was Gosling's year, 2013 is about to he his year again.

Even looking back at his early work in Fracture, The Notebook, The Believer, Half Nelson - he showed signs of growth to where he is today.

Gosling and Fassbender are the modern day De Niro and Pacino and I'll stand by that fully.

more fun fact - 95% of the film was improvised

Oh and the fact that Gosling got robbed for Blue Valentine and Drive with no Oscar nomination is criminal.

Yep. EXCELLENT actor. And it's a shame that people still think of him as the kid from the Notebook and automatically think he's not a good actor. My goodness, they are missing out on some GREAT performances
