Ryan Braun Suspended 65 Games for Biogenesis Involvement

Former NL MVP, Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun agreed to forgo the rest of his season en lieu of his most recent PED scandal with the Biogenesis Lab.

In 2011 Braun plucked the Most Valuable Player award away from Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers and later found himself amidst controversy in the off-season. After testing positive for performance enhancing drugs Braun appealed the case and won, avoiding suspension and playing throughout the 2012 season where he raked in the most home runs of his career with 41, to go along with 112 RBI's.

Braun had performed decently throughout this season, sending nine balls out of the park and driving in 38 runs, but it had been long anticipated that some action would be taken by the commissioner's office. Bud Selig, now near the end of his tenure as the commissioner of Major League Baseball and desperate to redeem himself after allowing the steroid era to be ushered in in a time where the league needed to regain the viewership they lost with the 1994-95 lockout, is sure to strike down on the other hitters with substantial involvement in the Biogenesis scandal.

The tainting done by men like Ryan Braun whom failed to maintain the integrity of the game has forced fans to question the legitimacy of the absurd seasons thus far from Miguel Cabrera and Chris Davis of the Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles, respectively. Those two sluggers have put in legendary first halves and are certain to maintain their stride in the batter's box.

Although Cabrera has hit for power since he came up as a 20 year old left fielder and third baseman for the Florida Marlins, the same could be said for Ryan Braun. Davis on the other hand, has struggled at times throughout prior seasons and is only now reaching his potential. Could he be on PED's?

A question that shouldn't even enter our heads has become a negative buzzword for American baseball thanks to the unfortunate actions of ball players like Ryan Braun and Alex Rodriguez that have continued the despicable trend of the late nineties.

The league should have a rule where if a guy wins an award and is caught for PED's, then whomever placed in 2nd should be awarded.

I'm not sure why folks are surprised. The top three major sports are rampant with this type of cheating.
