well from what I remember reading, they werent even living together for the most part. He was in London and she was in California, and they would meet every month for a bit. So even though they were married, they really werent "married"

Would Marriage be any better if they decide to make the split asset clause just effect the Joint Accounts and maybe the house?

You keep all your money that you personal accounts but your spouse gets half of the family one and maybe the house.
