They're kind of like what zippers on slim leather pants are for, just ease of access for putting on and taking off. With Mercer's track record for poor/weak stitching, I unzip mine to take them off to make sure I don't mess up the stitching with stretching. I bought two pairs because one was too small, and the stitching on one of the cuffs on the first pair was already frayed.

Well the Daytonas are made on NB's SL1 last; for something like the Americana which is made on their SL-2 (wider) last I'd be TTS. You may be thinking of SL-2 last made NBs such as the 577 or 574.

Idk...can more people help and chime in if y'all don't mind. I've heard three different things about the CoA's; go TTS, u can get away going .5 size up, go .5 a size down...lol answers are all across the board
just for further reference i wear a size 11 in the blaze of glory's and find them to be just perfect with little bit of toe room (tts is in b/w 10.5-11)
in my opinion, i would stay true to size or get a half size down.
