Reports of a "mass casualty" situation @ nightclub in Orlando shooting

There's a video going around on Twitter of the news phone interviewing someone who was inside

Dude said "we were trying to get everybody to run through the back door and there was a guy there trying to shut us in" and the news cut off his interview after those words

WTF

8o 8o 8o 8o 8o

Theres a comment in the thread on reddit about this. A couple of people got out the back door then barricaded it behind them thinking the shooter was close to them and trying to keep him away. Said they heard banging on the door.

Why though

How did a guy who was supposedly on an FBI watch list, obtain an AR-15?

I mean...if that alone doesn't tell you the system is broken somewhere, then I dunno what to tell ya.

My girlfriends buddy posted video from Pulse right before 2a last night.

He passed away at the hospital this morning :{

I've only been a gun owner for a short time but I'm going full right wing, NRA member, if any legislation passes that makes it harder for me to buy guns. The hoops I had to jump through were already BS enough.

Some states have it too easy though.

I live in the "easiest" state to buy guns and I still was denied initially.

Outside of speeding tickets I've never done anything wrong in my life from a criminal perspective.

The system is pointless if people like me trying to do it the right way are getting jammed up but this dude ain't.
Agreed. which is why it should be strict across the board, not more lax for your personal selfish reasons.

If you want a gun, then jump through them hoops. And if you have to jump through those same hoops three times, do it.

Protecting my family isn't a selfish personal reason. FOH.
I'm calling you saying the process is too difficult selfish.

If you would like to protect your family using a tool used primarily to take human lives (which you indeed have every right to do), I still think the process should be greuling for everyone.

It's not impossible to become a licensed owner. It's extremely difficult, but it isn't impossible.

You want things to be more lax because you personally had a tough time getting one? That's how it came off.

It should have been just as difficult for the shooter to get a hold of a gun. That's the problem. The problem isn't that it's too hard to get guns, IMO.

I know you guys are smart enough to know ISIS claims everything, but play dumb when it supports your view.

da problem with ur cynicism is its misguided...ISIS claimed responsibility hours later, that doesn't happen usually. even with San Bernardino responsibility wasn't claimed at da speed this one was.

Are you ******* serious?

guess that other foiled attempt in Cali doesn't smell like coordination to you either ehh?

and Obama not keeping it funky calling it Islamic extremism when da coward was yellin "Allahu Akbar" to da cops when he was in a gun fight with them is political correctness stretched to its dumbest limits...

Of the 300 million guns in America right now, I'd venture to say 99.3% of them aren't being used to take human life.

That's not my point. My point is with a tool where the primary purpose is to take lives when used, there should always be an extremely greuling screening process.

Again, it isn't impossible so what's the problem? That it took longer than you expected?

Purchased the guns legally in the last week... On FBI watch list. Wow.

Damn!!!!!!

Once again, Barry didn't mention Islamic terrorism in his speech. [emoji]128530[/emoji]
It's too early to make that connection for sure though. There has to be an investigation. But what does it matter anyways? What changes by adding the word Islamic?

Nothing at all

Just the usual suspects in here spewing nonsense

This is a hate crime that should be treated as terrorism. Thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.

People in here acting like Obama saying Islamic Terrorism will bring back the dead. SMH Never change NT

Wew lad.

I stopped explaining Islam to people. They'll believe what they want to believe.

Not surprising

Most Muslims vote Democrat now, by a good margin. Muslim voters used to favor the Republicans before 2000.

But when the GOP used them as a political pawn, they switched sides hard.

Like many black people, many Muslim voters see their two choices as either vote Democrat, or not vote at all.
