sad day for padres fans, its pretty safe to say that its comparable to trading a young tony gwynn (both home grown guys) now theres going to be nobody going to games.

At least the Fathers get something in return. If they didn't trade him he would leave in free agency and they wouldn't get anything.

Gonzalez needed a better situation, too much of a talent to go to waste in SD.. though they had a good year last year.
