Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

AEOM was more regional based with the sound. LAD had better singles which was key at the time.

Me Against the World will forever be my favorite Pac album followed by Makaveli.

Pac did connect with more people but it's interesting that Life After Death sold more than All Eyez On Me.
I respected BIG’s grind way more. I know pac was a revolutionary or whatever but his story just bounces around too much for me. East Coast to Bay Area then landing in LA as a grown man. I respected Biggie just being a fat boy from Brooklyn with skills that gave up drug dealing for a rap career and wasn’t trying to go back. Pac on the other hand was the total opposite who wanted to get more gangster the more he blew up.

MATW is simply the greatest album of all time to me. I was at an age where i felt like everything he was saying was directly to me. Big KRIT got a saying if it dont touch my soul i cant listen to it. That MATW was the first album that hit me in my soul. Theres maybe 10 albums that ive heard that left a lasting impact on me but none to that level.

I’ll also say this. I’ve never once heard that 2pac got killed because of his beef with Biggie. On the flipside, it’s all but proven that Biggie got killed as a result of what happened to 2pac for whatever reason. I got love for Pac but that beef was pretty much a one-way street that got Biggie killed as a result and that’s corny to me. Pac crashed out on his own in Vegas and Biggie got gunned down in LA over some east coast west coast bs shortly after.

Pac didn't "want to be gangster". Pac was Pac. He was young, brash, impressionable, and mislead at times, but there was nothing fake about him IMO.

I was always confused about how people always say that about Pac but BIG was actually the dude that didn't have to sell drugs and went to private school growing up. His Mom straight up said he was pretty much faking it and never really wanted for anything. Hell of a talent though. Wish those 2 brothers would have lived to hash things out.

Like I said, 2pac pretty much got himself killed by stomping out that shooter in Vegas. Biggie got killed as a result of pac dying because they were publicly beefing prior to. Biggie really didn’t do nothing to get himself shot other than being at odds with 2pac.

Can't blame Pac for Biggie dying cause Pac didn't want him dead. He actually told people that they'd eventually talk, he just had to get it out his system. That was Suge call but more importantly Puffy's ego and negligence.

Many people have come out and said they warned Puffy that there was a hit ordered but he blew it off. He got too cocky and arrogant cause Pac was dead and Suge was in jail.

All Eyez On Me is at 10 mil and came out months before he died.

Life After Death is at 11 mil and came out two weeks after he died and was named Life After Death. Mad people were buying that off him passing away the same month his album came out.

(I think it’s dumb as **** counting double discs twice. Country Grammar or Get Rich or Die Tryin sold literally 9 and 10 mil copies which is crazy)

You respect someone’s grind way more that did way less?

Let one of the biggest gangs in the country bail you out and tell them you not joining. We seen celebrities join for much less.

Both of their stories are documented. Biggie’s homeboy ate the 10 year charge for him to come home and he left the streets alone and focused on rap. Pac made a decision too, he was probably looking at 2-5 tops for his charge but chose to get down with a reckless crew to come home early. He chose that. Difference is Biggie came home focused and humbled, Pac came home crashing out for blood sets he was never apart of.
