The fact that he has access to those artist & producers & still put out a really solid album tell me that he's relevant enough musically.
I'm just trying to figure out what people expect him to be doing numbers wise? he's 20 years in did 20K first week independently with little to no push outside of the two interviews he did.
This is the norm for most artist with his age & longevity, unless you have a super smash, a label pouring money on you, or have a fanbase full of teens going crazy on socials for you your numbers aren't ging to be high. Game did 25K first week

I could go on & on, there's plenty of artist on this list who surely aren't stars but i wouldn't describe as musically irrelevant. There's dozen of artist that get posted in here who people claim to be "next up" "Hottest In the streets" "Got the city buzzin" tat would wish to do numbers in that realm
theres way too much information out there to keep basing an artists worth off of corporate playlist, the local club & their ability to get 16 yr olds to stan for em.
The reality is Game is in a great position for any rapper who is no longer considered a superstar.
Idk what those numbers you posted are supposed to mean. A lot of those artist simply aren’t game, and weren’t aiming to do what he’s doing. Those are also wildly different projects. Like Eminem Curtain Call…and Game new album aren’t the same thing

Game selling next to a 20 year old album in week 2, just does look bad. No way around it. Considering who he is, and the features/marketing/singles he had on there.

It’s just the reality of where he is now. And MAYBE, he should consider a different approach, if he wants to be seen in a certain light (which he obviously does)

The man literally cut a YB feature because he didn't want to pay the feature price, his promotion was a drink champs/no jumper interview & a two week roll out for an album that was pushed back multiple times.
I'm not sure what you think he was trying to do other than making a good album, nothing about this roll out or 95% of the music on the album scream i'm trying to catch a #1 album. I think all the features & production on this album are only like that because he's already seen in a certain light & he did that by focusing on the quality of the project
Either way idc about his place mainstream but this narrative of artist A isn't getting love from this demo...... therefore he's musically irrelevant & nobody is checking for them has got to stop.

The crazy part is…he (and his man) prolly wasn’t even in the wrong in that very moment.

Ross latest album did 30k. Game did 19k.
Game had way more big time features as well.
