They did her dirty...and her entire career has been mishandled but there's some other forces at play too.
Nobody knows who Teyana Taylor is. We know her celebrity...but she doesn't have an identity musically. She's a template like alot of other pop stars in the sense that their process involves bringing in writing teams/producers/artists who are shopping references, handling the bulk of the work, etc. Unfortunately, the machine just never put her in the starting lineup and she hasn't done anything on her own to develop a big enough cult following to make waves. She's super duper talented...but not a "pure artist"...if that makes any sense. It reminds me ALOT of Solange when they tried to make her Beyonce at first.
It's crazy to see her out here being forced to do late *** press runs about threesomes and a whole bunch of extra **** in an attempt to build hype. In hindsight...the "crazy Kanye" campaign to build hype for these projects, didn't benefit any of the artists involved except Pusha...who wasn't relying on Kanye anyway.
