Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

I think it's too early to say what Charlamagne did, when you've only ever heard his side. And that could have been an attempt to talk about it and downplay it so the girl isn't believed.

I hope Star isn't that desperate for relevancy to do this out of the blue if there isn't more to it.

Charlemagne's a bozo. But I see the politics at play.

My personal opinions on him won't get in the way of reason. Public record of this incident existed prior to his employment/business with: iHeartMedia (Radio), Viacom (TV), and CBS (Books). Those are the three companies that are in business with him. So if this sudden interest can threaten his pockets moving forward, those companies need to answer for why they would do business with him in the first place given his background.

Star playing chess.

He also just announced an HBO show he has coming out.

In this climate I highly doubt these companies aren’t doing their research. Star just trolling.

Not really

If this sparks in the court of public opinion with a big enough movement of fire Charlemagne they'll do an "investigation" and fire him just to avoid the boycott talk.

None of those companies will be held accountable about why they didn't do their due diligence prior to hiring him. Not to the point where they can't fire Charlemagne anyway. Some may even take the temporary label of incompetence just to remove any association of the controversy.

i never thought about it like that and while one has to likely be moving a certain way to end up with a serious accusation to begin with...this is definitely a valid logic to flip it on these companies. They be trying to flip flop for the public. Reminds me of the Ray Rice thing or brockhampton letting 16 year old teenage girls kick dude out of the group that apparently knew the frontman since he was 12. because he cheated on his girl and was mean to her lol.

Bunch of lipstick alley broads in here. Mans explained the story 100s of times and y'all still in here salivating on hearing it again. Go look up an old video. Some of y'all look don't mind feeding into ******* just as long as it gives y'all something to talk about even though you may know it's fake.

This is what gets me.

Again, I don't know what's right, but as soon as one of these stories comes out we seem to always be so interested in tearing our own people down. Same **** happened with Birth of a Nation. You gotta know THEY be having ulterior motives. Sometimes the outcry is warranted, other times it's just the kneejerk reaction that someone is using as a tool of chaos to take someone's career off track.

It'd be great if ****** just didn't speak and feel so passionately about things that have nothing to do with them, but social media has everyone thinking they need to play a part in the discussion.

Uh oh. I ain’t never hear this story before

Even if she lieing out her face and it was “consensual” it wasn’t cause he was 22-23 and she was 15.

CTG been going above and beyond to get in this position he's in. Got that **** off his face, started tap dancing here and there. He has to be a lil pissed off this came back up, mainly the girl is out here talking.

I don't think anything happens to him but you never know, they might fire him just for appearances, if she does more talking and the crowd starts making noise.
