Rome and Naple's pizzas are great, but the American style is so different that it seems like two different type of goals as far as taste. We usually value toppings and cheese when it comes to none-gourmet pizza while in Italy, they value the tomato sauce and a well made crust. They also don't use nearly as much cheese as us. They're both good for what they represent.
