After Jordan there was kobe. And kobe only retired what 4 years ago. It’s a fairly short time post career for a guy that dedicated his whole life to basketball to suddenly not be here anymore. His impact is universal whereas the other people with him in the helicopter were not globally known. They do have loved ones, but seeing kobe on screen they the ages has a different response from us. Seeing kobe leave with his success makes us question our own immortality, successes and downfalls. It’s terrible that something like this could even happen, but don’t disregard kobe’s reach worldwide. Kobe really finessed over everything ball related and really fine tuned his game. It was a masterclass. Those kinda of people that are so dedicated are hard to find when most of us are trying to get by. He was cut from a different cloth. In retrospect we disregarded kobe, but now that he’s gone we revere him. He never got the praise when he was here. Never forget kobe and my honest prayers go out to him and especially his wife and daughters. I cannot stress enough how much the nba and regular folk in general will miss him

Kobe's passing genuinely rattled me. It wasn't only the fact that he was my favorite player, or that he was so young, but his daughter passing as well. I'm a dad of 2 little girls and the thought alone of Kobe having to look at his baby girl and tell her everything will be ok to comfort her in those last moments just broke my heart. I don't know Kobe personally but I felt like I lost someone close to me. This is a dude that I used as an example for everything I tried to do. His work ethic inspired me to always be dedicated to your craft, and keep working.
