QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

It means that you keep going out of your way to throw in that Luck is better than player A, B, or C. Thankfully, certain fanbases didn't take the bait this time, but I'm definitely tired of the same argument involving the same people. At least, for right now.

:lol

That's what I'm doing? You really think that?

No man, that's not it, at all.

I don't care who's better, Luck or Ryan. Means nothing to me. They're both great.

What I AM pointing out is illogical narratives.

Luck throws too many picks.......backs Matt Ryan.

That's like a Tiki Barber fan making fun of a RB that fumbles too much.
Or Antonio Gates isn't all that, hypes Heath Miller.

You can knock Luck for plenty of things, but be accurate, and don't hype a guy who's actually worse at it than Luck is. That is what I was going after.

Who is better, A-B is nothing to me. Could care less.

And to show point, look at first part of your statement. But Luck's INT was ATROCIOUS.......so Ryan's TWO interceptions were the good kind? Is there a good kind of INT? One bad pass is worse than two? There's some kind of difference by you labeling Luck's atrocious?

You aren't an Atlanta fan, you have no interest in Ryan, but you're doing the same thing with pointing out that pass and dismissing Ryan's, why?

You have alerts for Heath Miller posts or somethin? Sheesh that was fast. :lol

there is something to be said about Heath. dude is just a reliable hard-nosed TE. not flashy. not mind blowing. but still gets it done.

back to QBs...i see Romo catching heat for playing behind a solid OL and against a soft defense. the defense, sure. that point is taken. NO isn't going to shut down many QBs this year. but the OL? can't agree. you need it. no QB is great without it. Rodgers struggles when his line is leaky. Brady is struggling without the line. can't knock a QB for having a good OL IMO.

God. Save it, man.

Ditto.

The difference is that Ryan's INT came in the same situation where Luck throws most of his -- Late in games, on the comeback. Luck made a horrendous decision/throw. That's it. I was just balancing out your one sided stance. Context of the two were much different. An INT is just a stat. Bad no matter what, but if you're gonna argue that there's not different levels or ways to interpret them then I really don't know what to say to you, because that's false.

You're the one that made the comment about "Ryan's two to Luck's one..." So?! You're doing the same exact thing you're trying to accuse me of in being inaccurate. Differenet games with different scenarios.

Nothing I just said is wrong. At all. It's very clear what your stance is on Luck vs. whomever, despite what you say If your opinion was as objective as you think, then you wouldn't point out one quarterbacks interceptions at the expense of the others. Quit getting so goddamn worked up that you stray from one simple counterpoint and then proceed with a rant against the world that has LITTLE to do with MY actual opinion as opposed to the one you assume I'm making.

I just want to see Romo sustain this level of play before I retract too much slander. He's always been a good QB, let's just see what happens if the Cowboys get down 10 points and he has to revert back to Romo-ball.

Ok man. I'm not the one worked up.

I pointed out last week Luck's INT rate vs Ryan's. This weekend was another example, I said something, and you got tight about it. *shrugs*

That's fine if you want to point out that throw over all the others, then don't start *****in at me for pointing out others the same way. Very Seattle fan of you but whatever.

Speaking of, my fanclub #1 member should be in soon to point out to you I am the worst poster in NT history, won't be long. :lol

And agree on Romo, wait a bit to see if this Romo stays or just an abberation. So far, he looks real good since week 1.

agreed. you want to see him deliver late in a game more consistently. whether it before the go ahead score or getting that first down to seal the deal. i feel like i defend him every year and games like last night tend to suck you back in right when you're ready to officially say, "no mas, no mas!".

:lol Stupid.

And I can't even get in on feeling good about Romo anymore. I love the guy as a quarterback, but it's the same story every year. He doesn't even have to win the Super Bowl, but goodness....win a game when the playoffs are on the line this time around. What did they say last night?...He's 0-3 in the last 3 years in the last game of the season when it's win you're in and lose you're out. That sucks.

Tiny sample for sure but I think after the San Fran game, they realized he couldn't do it at that point and made a concentrated effort to run. With Murray running as great as he has, there's no justification to go back. I thought the St. Louis game was a good barometer. Down 14 then down 21 and they still made it a priority to run Murray on almost every first down they got. I think the playcalling was even at the end of that game.

But, I keep saying it. Need to see if this same thing rings true when we're talking about them after Thanksgiving. I have some optimism but we've all seen how it's turned out the last six or seven years. It's on Romo but a ton of blame should go to Garrett as well. It took this guy having back surgery and pushing Romo to air it out in his first game back to realize who they have back there and how improved they'd be if they used him.

651, Boys are 0-3 but Romo missed last years game. I still believe they beat Philly if he's back there healthy :{

I can't really blame everything happening to the Patriots on the Tom Brady decline...

1) He doesn't trust anyone outside of Edelman. Can't really blame him with BB activating/deactivating dudes left and right. Also doesn't help that, outside of Edelman, his receiving options suck balls. Gronk doesn't look like Gronk out there.
2) Pats offensive line is terrible.
3) Due to #2, the running game isn't very good.

*shrug*

he's been far from himself...but Thomas is seriously the least of our problems right now

Tom isn't reading defenses tho either. He was hitting Chiefs in the hands. :lol

Using a 2nd round pick on a QB was either truly genius, or truly stupid. Would think they could used another weapon, or lineman, etc.

Trading Mankins?

Lamar Miller ran all over the Chiefs, Ridley never even got a look.

And Alex Smith looked like Peyton out there.

Oakland looked like a JV team against us. It was 13-9 in NE, late before losin 16-9. Absurd.

Alllll bad for NE.

And Tom.

Ive never used this thread before i guess it would be a good time to start.

1) Rivers
2) Luck
3) Rodgers
4) Wilson
5) Peyton
6) Romo... Temporarily... I dont trust he'll continue though, but i have to be honest.

NOT a list of the best qb's in the league.
List of who is CURRENTLY playing the best at the QB position at the 1st quarter mark of the season.

IMHO.

drafting Easley in the first was the mistake...Kelvin still on the board? nevermind, he went right before.

What are Alex Smith's updated stats for the year?
65.6%, 891 yards, 7 TD, 3 INT.

He's finally ahead of EJ Manuel but behind Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ryan Tannehill.
Yeah, you are not winning the bet Sneak.
