QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Think Lamar cements himself as a top 20 QB All-time this season...

He's the most unstoppable player in the league for defenses

Maybe during the regular season? Debatable, but Patrick Mahomes still exists
Was talking strictly Lamar and the level of consistency we've been seeing from him year in and year out. Mahomes is already top 5 DOA :lol

Haven't had a QB who was one of the most dangerous players in the league on the ground while also being one of the very best passers of the football in the game.

Philly Andy Reid Vick is the closest I can think of but that felt more like a cameo with how short we got to see it.

Everything he's shown in the league, especially within the context of all of the questions and tired thinking surrounding his capacity for playing the position before he played a snap, has been exceptional. Don't think even his biggest fans out of Louisville would've predicted just how good he's ended up as a pro. He's improved like crazy without sacrificing much of what makes him so unique and hard to defend.

All that's missing is bringing home the goods in the postseason at some point but postseason success wasn't necessarily a prerequisite for being in top 10-20 convos in the past. That's been reserved for those immortal/Mount Rushmore tier discussions in my experience.

I wasn’t talking about the all time convo. Just the most unstoppable. He’s still not more unstoppable than Pat

Based on regular MVP standards, Lamar is having an MVP season in 2024.

Based on 2023 MVP standards, 15 or so QBs are having an MVP season in 2024.

Can we pump the breaks please? I get that this is a prediction, but he has had 1 good playoff game in his career.

Imagine trying to explain to a child in 30 years that a top 20 QB of all time has basically **** the bed in almost 100% of the postseason games he has ever played. Your grandkid is gonna think grandpa lost his marbles.

People have deluded the value of regular seasons so much in every sport over time it's nerve racking ngl

Like Lamar is clearly better than Terry Bradshaw right now and that's a QB that falls in that 20 range for some

He's better than a few of these multiple time champions honestly.

It's taken for granted now but nobody ever thought he'd come close to becoming this prolific of a passer, nobody outside of himself evidently :lol

Testament to his attitude and makeup that he keeps levelling up as his career progresses no matter the setbacks. Could've 100% coasted off his physical gifts and been a regular pro-bowler but the work that he's put in since getting drafted is gonna qualify him for rare air then it's all said and done

Geno Smith will have a good year

INB4 And-1 Fumble

Something I just now caught.......

This is the 2nd post in this thread......10 years ago. :lol

Who knew Geno would actually become a decent NFL QB after 10+ years?

All these young QB's in 2033-34-35 8o

Offense and defense is required to be successful in football, the Bengals are only good at one of them. Besides Trey their defense is atrocious.. we've seen QBs play great but still lose as recently as Herbert(before Harbaugh) and Stafford on the Lions. This isn't a new phenomenon.
