What gets me about the whole Russ-Luck debate is that this is just the beginning
I dont think its Russ vs Luck though.
I think its a battle between Russ not getting enough credit vs Russ getting too much credit and Luck is used as the standard.

You literally said that you ignored all the stats because what you saw in person was better. I would love you to post some stats over Wilson's career that reflect negatively on him as a quarterback. Because both the advanced and regular stats over his first three seasons in the NFL are superlative. With the benefit of a great defense and running game but also a sub-par receiving core and offensive line (the two most important units for QB success).
"The Seahawks have a great defense" is not a stat that makes Russell Wilson look bad. Sorry...

So again, Luck throws those picks because his defense sucks and Wilson's doesn't.
God forbid anybody bring up the fact that Luck commits a good amount of turnovers, because then all you'll get is more random and irrelevant defensive stats that try to prove his defense somehow makes him throw all those picks.
Woe is Andrew Luck.
He's not the first QB with a supposedly ****** team, and he won't be the last either.
How ridiculous must it sound when somebody asks you why you don't think a player is good and you say "because his team has a great defense"

Exactly, and it's kind of weird. Like in order for certain fans to get validation they have to deflect.
Seattle is viewed as a Super Bowl contender every season. Their team is legit as hell, strong where it matters, and Russ doesn't make mistakes.
Who in the hell had the Colts going to the AFC Championship game, let alone Super Bowl over the last three years?
They had to rebuild the entire offense once Peyton left. Their RBs are a carousel of banged up guys, old dudes, and busts.Peyton and Tom was a 'thing' for numerous reasons: same conference, both teams had loads of pre-season and in-season hype, both were viewed as perennial championship contenders.
Are the Colts a serious championship contender? This might be the first year where you can say POSSIBLY.

There's nothing wrong with that. Players are who they are. But when every time somebody says "hey, he might be a good player" you have these weirdos who post a bunch of stats that have nothing to do with said players ability. I don't need a defensive efficiency stat to show me why a quarterback isn't good. Because of it's like that, you need to discredit the whole offense. It's dumb to me.

Are you really not understanding the fact that if Luck doesnt try to make a ton if plays, his team loses?
Wilson has the luxury of choosing to not attempt to make a play and punting because he knows in a handful of plays he will be getting the ball back. Luck needs to attempt to make play after play so that his team can keep up with the other team.....which is why you see more turnovers.
Its the same with Alex Smith. Smith isnt some amazing QB because he dosnt throw a lot of picks. He just knows for his team, not throwing an interception is just as important as making a play.

I have Russ @ 8 on my list, said he'll move up after this year (possibly top 5) and still get called a hater.
I dunno what else I'm supposed to say. He's a solid, efficient QB, elusive as hell, fun to watch, sometimes does too much, sometimes does too little, but has the benefit of playing with a phenomenal team. Ben Roethlisberger had a similar situation when he came into the league and turned into a BEAST. I can see Russ taking that step in the future. He's a smart dude.

not a russell hater either. i actually like him and many other seahawks players but im just calling it how it is, hes just not as great as proclaimed yet , lets see if he can get there.
