R&B, or whatever you wanna call the **** these womenz are making, is dead anyways fallaz.

No creativity in it atall. Janelle Monae is dope, but for every Janelle Monae, theres like 10 Rihannas. And plus I don't even know if people really throw Janelle in the R&B category.

Was going to post R&B is pretty much dead too. Too much garbage in there now, and everyone wants to be "pop" because that is where the money is I guess.

Dude how old are you?
What's that have to do with anything but I guess for your joke to work, I am 32...
And just because you sell 142 million records doesn't make you goat.
Timeless music that is appreciated and takes you back to a place or feeling makes you GOAT.
Prince never sold millions of records but you can throw one of his tracks on and instantly remember a good time. Mariah maybe had 10 songs that actually bring that feeling for me but other the that naw she is definately not that great..

**** started declining when dancing became more important than singing & songwriting. And it truly disgusts me when I find out that it takes more than 3 people to write a 4 minute song.

It went downhill when talent and creativity took a backseat to having a gimmick, like some "artists" don't have enough talent for the music to stand on its own, so they need a certain look and a corny record company driven gimmick to sell, also if one "artist" is hot then everyone else has to follow that person.

:{ at you if you think it was just quincy jones writing for mj, its always been a team of songwriters getting together on one song

I'm more of a Prince fan sir. I never even brought up MJ anyways.

Mugen, Prince sold a ton records bruh. Don't know the exact number but it's up there.
And it's not even close.
Prince did but not in the numbers Mariah did and its sad how his career is now because his stuff puts these young dudes to shame. I remember reading a thread on here last summer about Miguel being GOAT of this generation, The Hell, lol...
I just don't use your record sells as a status of your GOAT status...
It's just like with Drake, yeah he is making moves, getting money but that definately doesn't make him a good rapper that some people would have you believe..
Is he talented? Yes
But his lyrics are shallow and absolutely no depth to his personality...

What's sad about it? I think he likes his low profile, and besides he's still making music. Prince is a cool dude. He recently had a tour in which tickets were $25 dollars. What star with that big of a name is doing that? He came all the way to Inglewood, Cali and only charged $25. One of the greatest shows I've been too.

I don't find his low profile sad, what I find sad is the way radio regulates in keeping the good, true artist to purely doing things underground or just through Internet. There should be no reason for anyone to have to turn on a station and hear the same tired YMCMB record or Trey Songs, goat singing ***, lol...
There are tons of good, soul touching music out but we are fed the same mind numbing dribble all across the board( from hip hop-rock).

The days of getting quality classic mainstream music is over breh. I mean there will always be a few who gives us good material, but as a whole, the music that gets the least attention is usually the best these days.

Touché
But that Mariah statement truly rustled my jimmies, lol
But to each their own...

Mariah will definitely go down as having one of the best voices.

Im hearing jhene aiko is up next but i doubt it

The Worst annoys the piss out of me.

As a matter of fact I think SHE annoys me as an artist. That little sexy whisper/conversational style to her singing wore thin real quick with me.

She reminds me of every reefer head chick who tries to be deep.

I honestly think if ashanti or keyshia cole came out with drunk in love it wouldnt be big

I mean of course. Look at who you named. I can't name three songs by either one of them.

R. Kelly is the "R" in R&B no matter how many teenaged girls he pissed on or hit with the mule. Your parents watched the tape and called him a monster then he dropped "Happy People" and "Step In The Name Of Love" and they swept it under the rug like the judicial system did. Deal with it.
