Couldn’t say no to $20 caps thanks to HCs father day sales
The only Griffey that matters imho
The 23 asg hat has a raised mariners logo, while the kingdome cap is flat taking us back to 1994-1995.
Both are Chinese poly. Grey under. The raised mariners logo has a bluer side flag (as seen below) and has a rounded flat batterman. The kingdome version features a green side flag and a more rectangular flat batterman.
Not often worn though. They were alternates and he wore them in the 1994 asg events. The team may have worn them once or twice in game.
For years it’s been a battle trying to see if new era could match the proper shade of green
The original on the left is still a darker true Pacific Northwest green color. The teal new era uses is close but still not exact
Also bought with HCs sale. I don’t like the silky purple insides or the pink under but I can live with the price point.
For awhile, lids and new era were using the same shade of aqua or teal for both the mariners and marlins team caps on their retros. So it’s nice to see a true difference here. Both are very close to their respective originals.
