taking the MSF course later this month and hoping to get my first bike by June. Im sure its different for people but did you guys buy gear first?
Another thing, when financing a motorcycle, I read that before you can ride away with the bike that it would need to be insured. Do you guys get quotes before heading to the dealerships or.....?
haha yeah I was thinking it would be smart to get a helmet soon. It would also serve another purpose and make me get the bike sooner rather than later.I bought gear after I bought my motorcycle.I recommend start looking for your helmet now. Everything else can be bought at your discretion.
Not sure about the insurance, because I bought my bike from private seller. Although I was ripping it up and down the street without insurance.
1st ride today in the thawing northeast, got a chance to break in a new brain bucket i recently snatched up. i think it will be so money for the summer heat:
Planning on getting a bike this fall
I heard DOT rates these as 3/4 helmets but I've never actually seen one up close - How different are they from full-faced helmets from a practical/ safety standpoint? I think they are dope haha.

yea, it is called the shark raw & it technically is a just 3/4th helmet with the goggles & mask attached, which it is about as practical as any other 3/4ths helmet maybe a bit more so since it has the integrated goggles (maybe less so depending on whether or not you like the goggles & mask)...it isn't nearly as protective as a full face, but they make another helmet that is similar to this one that offers more protection called the shark vancore:
it isn't available in the states though (yet anyways)
I think he was asking how to ride it out WITH insurance. Why do you need information on riding without insurance. What's so difficult about insuring before you buy?
people who ride with tinted visors during the day, do you guys always carry a clear visor for night time riding?
