I dunno about that. SUVs are hitting hard in the states because everyone was avoiding wagons and vans. They still have a stigma here.

What "stigma"? I know people love the V wagons, AMG wagons & I see a boatload of RS6 Avants. BMW would sell a crap ton of G80 M3 wagons if they made it pass safety regs.

Thats us. Car enthusiast. The average person is like, "A STATION WAGON?!?". I know this because evertime I mention how bad *** wagons are regular folk look at me crazy.

I can see both sides to this argument.

I think most of us in here are probably in the millenial age segment, so we remember which cars truly made an impression on us, and for M's of course it's going to be the NA motors.

I had an e46 M3 back in the day, and I would love to own another. I loved my E90 M3 even more though, but for some reason having sat in a clapped out one recently (high mileage, loud, slow) I couldn't wait to get out. It just isn't what I remember it to be after owning Porsches for 10+ years now.

I think as I age, the idea of a big body benz daily driver gets more and more appealing. So i'm not opposed to the new M5.
I’m at that age as well, so like you mentioned a big body would be a great daily driver for me , so why would you mention an M5 when a 760i ( a direct competitor to the big body S class ) exists.

Everything in your post makes sense until that last part

That’s cause the really cool people in the know, know how good a wagon is and it will always drive superior to a crossover. Those that want to look cool and think they are cool buy crossovers. And a hell of a lot more of those people who have convinced themselves crossovers are cool and wagons and vans are not. Which is why Audi has now canceled every gotdamn 2 door in favor of a ton of crossovers that sell better. That ain’t cool to me and many of us tho.

In addition things have blended so much with most people driving 5/10th daily, a crossover doesn’t really lose much. And car manufacturers have invested heavily into improving crossovers and said to hell with vans, wagons, sedans, coupes. I had a first get RX 300 and had a RX 500h demo for a few months and the RX 500h is so good it reminds me of a GS F sport. The RX 300 drove like a Town Car in comparison lol. A X5M or Cayenne GTS let alone Turbo defies physics. 7 series is replaced by the X7 as the BMW family vehicle. etc etc etc

But i also get it. Raised ride height, more room, maybe a third row, awd etc etc. Especially as people get older getting into a crossover is ten times easier than dropping down into a car. They ain’t racing their cars so the advantages of a car are lost. Might as well drive a crossover.

Cliffs- the irony of crossovers being bought because people think they are cool when a wagon is infinitely cooler.

This makes me drool. Not the RSQ8. The beauty of it is we have some amazing choices today so if you think wagons suck, there are 10,000 crossover choices lol.

In an unexpected twist for enthusiasts, Lexus slapped the GR 3 cylinder and manual (option) into their LBX for a true hot hatch. This is an Akio passion project callled the LBX Morizo RR. Unfortunately doesn’t sound like it’s coming to the states.

Bruh Toyota said, “**** them fat *** Americans! We going fast!!” I hear they’re bring back the Celica too. Like actually. No switcharooskis either.

What’s a decent price for ceramic coat? This local place quoted me $1750 for one of their packages. Think they have lower tier ones, the one they quoted me is said to be their more popular one.

Just pricing I suppose. I don't think I am ever going to be the guy that buys an S63 or even leases one new. I can do a 580 or as I have now an EQS. An M5 is nice compromise at least for me. I would do a 7 series or I7 thats probably on lease special but given you mentioned an M760i I'm def not that client (falls in same category as S63). Maybe if I got my cheddar up.

For now I can afford a fast mid size daily or a slow full size lol. Or whatever's on lease special I guess.

As with everything , Americans complained about not getting this, that in Manual to boot.

Audi and Porsche throw us wagons and nobody orders them. It's a shame.

Car people are funny. A little out of context but I was watching some GT3 auctions on BaT and everyone complained that a car was tracked during its 12k mile life. Watch a sub 1k mile GT3 being traded and they all complain that someone bought it and never drove it.

No way you’re saying that the A4 All Road and Panamera are the wagons we want.

It's just a proven thing man, otherwise we would get them. All the car guys complain we don't get wagons but then don't buy them when we get them. How many Corolla GRs (hatch) do you see at car meets? Yet everyone was so stoked that we were getting it.

I would love an RS6 or Turbo S Turismo one day.
