it was Topps boxes at Target before, now they're bum rushing Costcos for Pokemon cards smh. Resellers have no shame.

TCG has boomed lately. A lot of card value is up and the hype from this release ain’t helping

card value is attached to what people are willing to pay for it though so who is all of a sudden thirsting for these card?
and usually if you buy something to stock em up for later, the value retention isnt there because everyone else is doing it and there's excess

I’m not sure who or why - I was just talking about it earlier with a friend. His guess is there’s an app / phone game you can download and rip digital packs. He thinks that’s drawing new people to the physical TCG.
I have two cards that have jumped a lot:
PSA 9 Mewtwo GX - bought at $95, selling now around $400. PSA 10’s when I bought were $300 or so and now selling around $2,000-$2,500.
Pikachu Van Gogh Promo - I sent two off to PSA today; 10’s selling at $700 or so and raw at $250, up from like $300 for a PSA 10 and raw for like $50-$75
Either way, this new print series being super limited and terrible pull rates.. my boy said one of the hits in there is already $1500 raw
which tells me people are FIENDING.

i have the tcg game app, its cool ripping packs but im not even spending a cent on it and its kinda whatever really
it only started in the US in december iirc but i guess its working?
just seems random and scalpers caught on and are all over it and now that ive clicked on some of those vids last week, its what IG keeps suggesting to me now
it is fun ripping packs those, i used to collect basketball cards but that ended around kobes rookie year
cant into these crazy cards though, $3k boxes with one pack just in hoping to pull a $1m wemby card is kinda nuts thats like winning lottery odds
like id be insanely mad if these are the cards i got for $3k+
