No, you can't make that assumption.  Miami has two of the best 5 players in the league, plus another guy who is really, really good.  The Knicks now have two guys that are in the top 15, maybe top 10 players in the league.  Its not nearly the same.  If the Heat just had Bosh and LeBron, and no Wade, nobody would have been talking about championships.  That's basically what the Knicks have now, except Melo isn't as good as LeBron.  Plus, another difference is that Wade and LeBron are good on both sides of the ball.  You can't necessarily say that about Melo and Amare.

So, until I see something to make me think otherwise, I still put the Knicks clearly behind Boston, Miami, Orlando, Chicago and Atlanta.  Watch out for Philly too, if they keep playing the way they were before the break.

Chandler was your version of Luol Deng.  Possibly even better.  He was your do it all guy - y'all counted on him to guard the rim, fight for rebounds, he can play the 3 and 4 and you can also count on him to guard 2's and even 1's.  Y'all don't remember sic-ing Chandler on DRose for stretches at a time?

Give them some time... Eventually they'll be top 3, but there are still some spots they ned to fill to be up there. From a starting lineup standpoint they can really go at any team in the east. But when it ocmes down to competing against the proven teams in the east, the bench is going to make a difference.

They aren't better then the magic, knicks don't have anybody for dwight nor are they even close to the depth Orlando has.  I also think the hawks are slightly better, with horford, smith, a healthy johnson, and Crawford.  Like i said for this season at least they are at least the 6th seed, they are 6 games back of Atlanta and Orlando already....knicks not doing much in the playoffs with that seed and no homecourt adv
