Yo Venom is your blog a full time thing, or do you just do it in your spare time?

Also do you get free tix?

it's not a full time thing, it's my hobby that I treat as a 2nd job. I make $ off advertising on my site but I don't do it for $. I have an "actual" job. Everyone I've met who runs sites like mine do.

Do I get free tickets? No I'm on press lists with studios and PR firms after a lot of hard work over 4+ yrs making contacts and talking to people building credibility. They send me info for screenings in NY and I attend them.

I cover film festivals as well, Tribeca Film Festival starts today. I'll be watching about 18 films over the next week.

Cool. Thanks for the insight

I love films, I try to watch and learn and absorb as much as possible. I haven't seen a lot of films but I'm working on it. It's a passion, it really is I know many in here share that. I just was pushed to start a site that I've been able to maintain for a little bit and see some rewards.

NT has helped support and for that I thank you guys.

Just watched the Superman trailer again. One of the best previews I've ever seen. Right here, right now, the voice overs by Crowe, Costner, and Adams are ******g right in the wheelhouse that franchise needs. Absolutely ******g perfect. Shannon's lines were solid as well. From a boy, thru his childhood, before he sets out on his own, quietly, minding his own business. When he comes walking out in the snow with his suit on........ :{ Nolan and his team are just next level. Straight up, next level.

Then I caught the Hunger Games sequel trailer, and that looks really good as well. Ya know, it's funny, Hollywood is the butt of every joke, out of ideas, nothing original etc etc, and yet, last year and it looks like this year as well, there is a ton of stuff that I am excited for. Friend of mine said Oblivion was really good, he caught a screener last night, things seem a little less lazy, little tighter, acting is better, few years ago it seemed like everything was being made as an equal to the second Ghost Rider, now there seems to be a lot better work being done. Am I alone thinking this? Am I just hype from 2 really good trailers?

You said out of ideas, but referenced two movies based on existing franchises. So no.. That part isn't changing and likely won't see a reverse in the trend of the last 30 years of blockbusters. But if the quality is there then I'm not complaining.

I didn't mean that they aren't truly out of ideas, I know that they are, hence movie #8 or whatever in almost every franchise, :lol I just meant that as much as the Film Industry is deadpanned, they "seem" to be doing a better job the last 18(?) months or so? Weren't we all talking in here at the beginning of this thread what a down year 2010 and 2011 were? Like the well was drying up or something. Now there are multiple movies/franchises I'm excited for, things are being done better, it seems. At least it feels that way now, maybe I'm way off and the movies will all suck, I don't know. But so far, things look pretty good.

I ain't eem trying to watch that trailer. I don't want anything spoiled for me. I can wait a few months.

Just got some EXCELLENT news in the Star Wars universe. :hat

1 movie. Every summer. *grins*

Id prefer quality over quantity if it starts to lack.

I'm not an eligible retiree like you though CP, so I can understand why you're so interested in a new Star Wars film every year. :lol

I watched Star Wars yesterday, and I was just thinking. Will we ever have a film with such an impact on cinema that we saw with Star Wars? It's charm still holds to this day.

They will be quality, see Disney owned Marvel pumping out 1-2 films per year the last 6 years. Same blue print.

Will be different directors, crews, for each film. No worries about time, cutting corners.

Don't hold your breath. Warner Bros said they were going to do the same thing for Harry Potter. I highly doubt it happens every year.

While I agree with everyone you said and this project looks fantastic, let's please be aware of one thing.

This is Zack Snyder's film, not Christopher Nolan's. I know everyone loves Nolan, myself included, but don't start giving credit to Nolan over Snyder.

Bruh, Marvel was pumping out films before Disney owned them. :lol

I just hope we don't get Star Wars: Fast and Furious Galactic Empire.

Nolan's team wrote this script, created this world. Snyder certainly can do work with the visuals, but Nolan is running this project, make no mistake about it. Snyder didn't magically become great at terrific dialogue, that's Nolan, Goyer, etc. Snyder will get very little credit for this film.

I liken this to Tony Scott doing True Romance. That's Tarantino's film with a substitute teacher directing.

I'm speaking of the interconnected Avengers series which had 2 films out before Disney bought them, one was Iron Man, the other was the Hulk. Since then, 1-2 per. (none in 09, kinda wonder if the purchase has something to do with that)

If these Star Wars are half as good as the Fast and the Furious films, we'll be in great shape.

that is GREAT news.
Im looking forward to this.

I always thought with all the books written in between and after the star wars films, more should be made.

No need to worry. The movies in between the episodes will focus on individual characters.
Ep VII - 2015, EP VIII - 2017, EP IX - 2019
First two character movies likely Han Solo and Boba Fett origin stories.
