Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Moonrise Kingdom looked great but it didn't do anything for me. Just didn't get it.

I didn't like Get Him to the Greek nearly as much as Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Was just too much Brand in Get Him to the Greek. There was a little too much P Diddy too. But Forgetting Sarah Marshall was a funny movie.
Yea Pdiddy was that over the top character. Once they're overused it just becomes unfunny.

Yeah, it was technically really well made, but I just didn't really connect with any of it either.

Maybe if they had different kids or something.

See, I liked the kids and thought they did a good job. They acted like people act in Wes Anderson movies. Its kind of affected and there's a style to it, but if you like it, you like it.

It's basically a fairy tale. Had an orphan, enemies, love, that lightning scene, the imagery. And she was reading fairy tale books throughout the movie

Bruce Willis was very good

Btw the original Arthur is very, very good. And the campaign was underrated. Not spectacular but Worth watching it

BoB was a cot dang snoozefest.
I see the greatness in Band Of Brothers. But that **** was boring as hell, the second half of the series had me falling asleep and I really struggled to finish it

I didn't think Pitch Perfect was bad, but I didn't like it nearly as much as some of the other people on here. Aside from the eye candy value, I wasn't that into it. I might give it another try though. Its one of those movies that the mood you're in when you watch can impact your perception of it. It does seem to have become the new NT movie thread cult favorite though. I'd say that title was previously held by Scott Pilgrim, which coincidentally, also has Anna Kendrick in it.

And Rebel Wilson with an American accent? That makes no sense. Her real accent is so much part of what makes her funny in the first place.

scott pilgrim was a good movie imo

pitch perfect yuck

that annoyingly corny lead actor was the reason why i didnt check out 21 and over

yea rebel wilson with an american accent. the shows premise is pretty dumb too

It probably just hit me right, but I thought The Dictator was pretty funny too.

oh dear lord i was in tears when they rolled the blake griffin dunk footage :rollin

for comedy, I enjoyed The Campaign. Will Ferrell was wild in that one :lol

The Dictator was pretty funny. I still find myself asking people, "Do you want the Aladeen news? Or the Aladeen news?

OG Arthur was awesome. That remake Arthur was terrible.

Arthur: You want to run my bath for me?

Hobson: Its what I LIVE for.....

Hobson: Perhaps you'd like me to come in there and wash your **** for you....

:rollin

Forgetting Sarah Marshall was pretty funny :lol
The dracula musical had me in tears. Also this and Get Him to the Greek are the only things I'll ever like Russell Brand in.
This is the same for me.

Especially since I saw Arthur I'm beginning to think any movie with Jenifer Garner in it is gonna be mediocre

Whas that you say?

1000

Chill
:lol

I notice you aint reply with any good movies with her starring or supporting or even a cameo.

Was that Fringe comment serious or sarcastic? What was that show even about?

It's about regret and the road not taken. It started as a sorta X-Files mixed with Heroes. Case of the week, obvious twists, kinda corny endings where the ild guy suddenly remembers the answer from the 60s, and there's a conspiracy. Then...

Fringe got better to me around season 2. Walternate and Bolivia :smokin
It takes a turn. It gets great, quickly. People hype up Lost and tell you it's great up until...

I would say something similar aboyt Fringe. Seasons 2 and 3 are really something special. Right there with as good as Lost got. And John Noble, the guy who played Denethor in LOTR, is awesome. Leonard Nimoy comes around and he's great. Joshua Jackson is actually good. You might hate the main chick s1, but she gets right. And Lt. Daniels from The Wire does his thing.

They ditched all the stuff that didn't work early on, and this long, pure, creative, clever and really just...will have you fiending story arc for 2 seasons. It becomes a story about people being smacked by their own mirror selves and their selfish mistakes, through some sci-fi iht. If you give it a chance and get to s2, it'll have you drinking the kool-aid.

The only thing is, they kinda make a huge change in the show when they didn't have to after that. And fun fact, the show probably would've been cancelled s2, but Anna Torv is Rupert Murdoch's niece.

If you've seen Lost and BSG amd X-Files, I would recommend that. The same way people say the great stuff is Heroes s1, the great stuff is Fringe s2-3.
