Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

the only point he has is that he is a sadist and doesn't have that much talent.

Just a good con artist

but Ridley has the clout. Shouldn't have let him touch it

Was hoping they'd let Nolan's Bat be it's own thing.

Crazy story ^ saw it a while ago, just posted it to ATC and getting peoples opinion on it.

I'm afraid Dexter is falling into the same nonsense that always deterred me away from other seasons...

I won't go too far into detail, but now that Isaac is gone, probably my favorite part of the season is now dead. Sure, Hannah is hot, but the Dexter/Isaac storyline was really getting somewhere. They could have dragged it out at LEAST two more episodes, and have him die on the episode before the season finale.

And now they're bringing in a new threat? This guy that burns up all these bodies? I just feel like it completely negates everything that was established with Isaac. I know that there's stuff with the titty club owner (forget his name), but there's nothing there that would enhance the season finale or make you drool for next season. That died with Isaac.

The norm, climaxing too soon. :{

I mean, the only thing that would make sense is LaGuerta sending a man-hunt to find Dexter, but I feel like that could've been all of next season. She's heavily on his tail now, and now all we get for three episodes is her, Deb, and Hannah? Oh and this new killer, but whatever.

I don't know, I was finally starting to like this whole Koschcka (sp?) brotherhood storyline, but now I don't even know what to believe. Yes, we still need resolution between Quinn and dude, and he may die, but whatever. I was hoping for the resolution to this season revolve around Isaac, but I guess my expectations weren't matched and I am a bit flustered.

Walking Dead mid-season finale is next week, and there's only a few things that happened this episode.

Merle-centric episode, hell yes :smokin . Merle has been my favorite character for a while now, and I just can't wait for the dynamic that will be had between Merle and Daryl. The scenes with him and Glenn were golden though, and then the scene where Glenn has to kill the zombie is very well choreographed. Obviously there will be tension between the two groups next week, :lol . Shall be interesting to hear what happens with Andrea. It's evident that if Andrea catches on that The Gov captured Glenn/Maggie, she's going to split, and it doesn't seem like many of the inhabitants of Woodbury are well-versed in Survival, so it will be interesting to see where they start to go.

But they won't get too deep, because that's what AT LEAST the second-half of this season is for. Woodbury VS Prison. The Governor seemed very pissed that he wasn't able to take over the prison, while a small group was able to.

I was pretty disturbed by the scene with Governor/Maggie, but I am surprised they stopped. They've had forced sex on cable dramas before, Niptuck was on FX I believe and they had some pretty nasty stuff going on there. Having a girl take off her bra is a Saturday night in College, :lol . Regardless, it was a great scene.

They are really starting to heavily do a lot of CGI, which is something I'm kind of iffy about, it really takes me out of the mood, but whatever.

I'm really hoping to get some of the comics for Christmas. 8o

Has anyone seen Silver Linings Playbook yet?
I needs to see it.

There's a ton of films that I want to see right now, but because of the holidays, just can't afford to. |I

I want to see Killing Them Softly, Lincoln, and Rise of the Guardians. |I

The next movie I'll see in theaters is The Hobbit. Then to end the year, This is 40 and Django.

You can already see DC walkin a thin line, can't you?

If they cast this kid as Bat, and he isn't Bruce Wayne, for a Justice League movie........ :{

Marvel gotta be laughin in their vault of cash at these dudes.

Warner Bros needs to just slow down... They're rushing this thing trying to compete with Marvel and Avengers 2, and it's going to kill them.

I feel like you've gotta build into that thing... You've almost got to have Henry Cavill as Superman, right? I mean, you can't just ignore the Superman movie you just made, can you? If you're going to move away from Nolan's Batman (and you should), you almost need another Batman movie to set the whole thing up, right?

You're just going to throw Flash, Aquaman and Wonder Woman on screen for people who have literally NEVER been exposed to those characters, and expect them not to wonder where the hell they came from? You're not going to have any sort of set-up with Darkseid, who almost HAS to be the villain in a JLA movie?

I'm concerned.

On the one hand, I kind of like a diff approach. I mean, you can't just carbon copy Marvel's strategy, right? So DC goes the opposite, goes the big movie from jump, then spins off that.

I kinda see that logic. Kinda. But it has to be PERFECTLY executed then.

JL needs only be about Bat and Supes carrying it anyways, the lesser characters people will fall in line with, IF the main duo is strong. Just cuz Thor and Cap had solo projects didn't make everyone love and accept them, Marvel was just smart enough to build in secondary characters to help them along. Stark's dad, Phil, Sam L, etc.

Going in reverse, they should be able to carry it with the 2 big ones everybody knows, and going in, you KNOW you're watching a superhero flick, you don't need to know about Flash, WW, etc from jump. Then you can go back to their origins in solo projects. Not ideal, but that's what you get for bein second. Better to try a new approach, than blind copy what Marvel already mastered, right?

So it has a "chance" but they best not miss. Start with MOS, a slow build in, nods to something bigger coming, etc, do JL correctly, cast it right, then go with a the new Batman, a WW project, GL if you want, Flash, etc, and use those as a lead up to a JL 2 etc etc.

With the timeframe they have set in front of them, it's the only way I can see them pulling this off. If they backed JL to 2017, then yeah, they could introduce solos and be flat out copycats, but they want that 2015 window to include the WB along with Avengers 2 and now Star Wars. That summer is going to be ******g insane. Let us all hope, that we are still here, within this thread to chop all that up. :Nthat

Someone on the IMDB boards I was speaking with said maybe WB is keeping things under wraps like Marvel did with Avengers and Bale comes back as Batman and JGL does indeed play Nightwing/Robin. But idk if it'll work, OR, enough people can keep their mouths shut.

In a way, yes, it would be amazing marketing and a big shock to fans once it is revealed. But on the other hand there are still many people who want Bale back and are speculating. So if they do reveal it's Bale that would fire up fans and leave them salivating more more.

I think the idea posted a few above where Superman flies down to talk with JGL as Robin/Nightwing and says "someone wants to have a word with you" would be a cool little cliff hanger and as the screen goes back the crowd goes into a frenzy.

True, getting Bale and co back would be a HUGE step in the right direction. But I have a hard time believing all of them would come back without Nolan. A real hard time.

Unless WB ponies up a brinks truck to each actor, I would guess they would want out. But we should start finding out real soon.

2015. :hat

If WB wants to make this thing a success, they'll tell Christopher Nolan they'll fund the rest of his career and give him an outrageous amount of money to make this thing a legitimate project.

Idk if I loved Capt (I did love Thor) but it certainly set up the love and acceptance of the Avengers, with the Tesseract in Capt and the whole mythical magic world of Thor...... so there's that.

There is absolutely nothing about Nolan's Batman that sets up a JL and obviously its to been seen with how the new Supes movie will play out.

You don't need all of them, remember this isn't a Batman movie this is the Justice League film. All you really need is Bale, Oldman and maybe Michael Caine. The rest you fill with JL members and villains

Pretty much the entire cast has said they won't do another Batman movie, let alone a JL flick, without Nolan.

Old and new X and Magneto? 8o

Long rumored, director Bryan Singer has now confirmed that the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past will mix cast members from his X-Men and X2 with those from Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class. Taking to Twitter, Singer reports that Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart are set to reprise their roles as Magneto and Professor X with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy returning to play younger versions of the same characters.

Singer goes on say that Nicolas Hoult will be back as Beast and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. His original tweets read as follows:

Scheduled for release on July 18, 2014, X-Men: Days of Future Past boasts a script by Simon Kinberg and is said to be inspired Chris Claremont and John Byrne's comic book storyline that ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981. "Days of Future Past" introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

Although not yet officially listed, Singer's "more to come" is likely to also include Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. In addition to playing a key role in the comic book version of the story, Wolverine has appeared in every live-action X-Men film to date and will star in his second solo adventure with the July 26 release The Wolverine.

:lol Do come in, do come in.

You give up on AHS already, or still with it? I've stayed with it, sort of miss the old house from last year, but it's still kept my interest so far.

And I assume you are anxious for Gatsby next month?

My big question with WB and JLA is... How are they gonna do a tough, gritty JLA movie when all the big JLA villains are aliens?

They've prided themselves on Nolan's dark Batman... They're trying to do the same thing with Superman... That doesn't work when your biggest villains are Darkseid, a bunch of evil twins, and a giant star fish...

Yea Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart coming back for X-Men: Days of Future Past is awesome - old and new time travel - maybe they meet each other! - imagine a Fassbender and McKellen meet up
