Nosferatu was a solid re-telling of the story. They strayed a little bit but eventually arrived at the same end point.

Note to self: in 2025 I will no longer get upset at the inclusion of the Exorcist in every horror movie. Solidifies it further as the undisputed GOAT

Finally got to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Liked it better than I was expecting to. The Dial of Destiny plot device was meh, but the performances were good and the call-backs to the earlier movies hit well, especially the end with Karen Allen (who looks pretty good for 73).

7/8 (5.5 merit points, 1.5 nostalgia points).

Nosferatu was a solid 7/8 for me. I didn’t enjoy the last 30 minutes nearly as much as the rest. There were some damn cool visuals I wished would have persisted through the film, but I get it, the plot is kinda busy, Lotta story to get through, so little time.

It was weird, I liked every acting performance except Skaarsgards. Didn’t hate it, but it was just OKAY to me.

This was the first movie I’ve seen this year that felt like real film again, and not like a Netflix original. (I did not watch a lot of new films this year)

Just got out of Nosferatu and not sure what to think, but great visuals and I think Lily Depp Rose is gonna be a big star.

Finished all the True Detective Seasons.

My favorites were S2 & S3.

Weakest was S4. I felt it leaned too heavily on the supernatural throughout the season. Whereas the others may have made mention of the occult factors early, it was dispelled once actual facts and evidence were deduced. Had an interesting plot, felt more sci-fi. The acting was excellent though. Jody Foster and some new faces. Everybody brought the heat. I liked the Native American subplot and multiple days of night in the Alaskan winter.

2 & 3 were the best. Not sure which I like more. Both with phenomenal actors and performances. Both with deep endings. Loved them.

S1 was just okay to me, but it at least came together better at the end than S4 and balanced out the paranormal occult stuff with good ol fashion crazy.
