Put on Death Wish 2 last night with a couple of my buddies and within the first 20 minutes there are 2 extremely graphic rape scenes. The first one was like excessively long and we were straight disturbed and had to change it. Anyone familiar with this? I couldn't believe that the scene made an actual movie that was distributed in theaters.

For whatever reasons, rape scenes like that were much more common in 1970s era films. I don't understand why it was more accepted back then. I've seen a few movies from back then, including multiple Death Wish films that included scenes that would never be included in films made now.

God damn that's depressing ****.

Really liked Casey Affleck's scenes. He's really underrated. Bale was great, and Woody was evil as hell. Would have loved more dialogue between he and Bale tho. Dafoe was solid as well.

Forest Whitaker tho.......no. I did not like his performance at all.

Solid film, but not as strong as how Prisoners grabbed me and pulled me in.

Saw The Wolf of Wall Street.. just about perfect.

3 hours flew by. Incredible editing, Leo and the whole cast was great, strong soundtrack, loved the self-referential moments and breaking the fourth wall, can't think of any complaints right now. Plus, it was just flat out hilarious.

Scorsese doesn't release directors cuts as far as I know. Maybe if there is enough want for it he might?

I'm dying to see that extra hour of footage as to where it was place throughout the film.

I wish I had an extended version of all of Marty's recent films. Shutter Island, The Departed, The Aviator, Gangs of NY, Casino and so on. I know that a couple of these movies were originally 6-8 hours long. Damn, I would murder someone to see those.

American Hustle was pretty awesome. I was wondering why the flick was categorized as a comedy for the Golden Globes, but after watching it, I can see why. Pretty unique in that it's almost a 50/50, drama/comedy film. The movie was pretty sluggish off the gate, but surprising picked up when Renner was introduced. I'm trying to come up with a "similar" film to this, in terms of tone and theme, and the closest I could come up with was the Ocean's Trilogy. My only gripe is that the caper and comedy really overshadowed the dramatic aspects of the film. I really was looking for more depth in the Christian Bale character. There were also some great cameos and other appearances that I didn't expect which were a treat. All the scenes between Cooper and his "boss" (not going to reveal because I'm not sure if anyone else knew that he was cast) were gold.

In the end, I'm just finally glad I enjoyed a David O. Russell film. But, I still don't like Silver Linings Playbook.

I still have a couple more films to watch before 2013 closes, but I'm pretty sure this will make it into my top 10.

So I hated American Hustle . Saving grace for me was Bale and Jack Huston (aka Richard Harrow from BE, just because of who he is. Bale had a great performance).

Even the ending didn't save/do the film justice for me.

I had a feeling that they were conning Richie all along anyway. I also didn't get any substance from Irving feeling bad about screwing Carmine.

The DeNiro/Pena exchange was funny.

I'm not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence to begin with, so her role made no difference to me in this. Amy Adams wasn't bad though, I'll give her that.

IDK dudes, I didn't expect to like it going in, and after watching it, I remain feeling the same about it. Just wasn't for me.

It's a damn shame AH will likely win the Golden Globe over Wolf .

Unfortunately I saw that terrible movie. Weird as hell too. I also saw Vehicle 19 and there was a scene where some guy kept telling him I can see you're on fire when you drive.
