Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Really? It's good like that? Because I was thinking "Disturbing? Keep talking. Thought provoking? I'M IN. Intense?! Ok, ok... wait, wait... isn't Prisoners that Arny & Sly flick? Because I wouldn't imagine any of what you just said would be true about that movie."
"PRISONERS" bro. The only one I know of.....

:rollin

My bad.

:lol :lol

Yeah, Prisoners looks as good as you described. :smokin

Escape Plan, tho... :lol

Prisoners looks good. Not sure how good it will be though story wise. All this talk of disturbing makes me wonder if it'll be any deeper and unsettling than a Law & Order SVU ep. I do look forward to catching it, I know Paul Dano's creepiness will live up to it's consistency.

Don't waste your time on Real Steel :lol

I've forgot my longer review on Savages but it's just ok. Not worth re-watching imo. I too get a laugh and a bit of shock that Kick-*** gets other roles but after Avengers 2 I may be referring to him as Quicksilver from here on out :lol

As someone who's watched 80% of all SVU episodes..... WAAAY Deeper. Not even on the same planet. There's times to not believe the hype, but on this movie, that's not the case. And there really was never too much Hype on this movie anyway... it's just really good & people are telling other people.

I'm happy Paul dano is doing a mainstream movie for a change. Kid is wasted talent.

I put on half Nelson and the **** was in Spanish. Been wanting to watch it for a while.

Gravity had the biggest October realse ever. I don't know if that says more about the movie or inflation.

Inflation and 3D/IMAX

Escape Plan bout to be the best film this fall. :hat

Actually, probably won't even be the third best film that weekend. :lol

Carrie, The Fifth Estate, and and 12 Years a Slave all come out that weekend.

Just, see it. And you're going to be annoyed that those statements are cemented in time on my post right here.
I doubt it since I've already read about it but we shall see.

Hope you're not confusing how good their performances were for how good the story actually is.

Ok, I've seen a lot of disturbing ****. Premise didn't really shake me.

^^^ Did you see the movie?  The premise isn't even the disturbing part, everything that happens in between is.

Me and my shorty left the theater questioning our entire lives lol

@ xBuddha Blessx  BRO. Look. Don't Knock It Until You Try It.

Watched The Collection last night on Netflix. Actually thought it was worth the watch. LOVED the ending.

Better than B movie horror but not quite A tier. Acting was sub par, premise was ridiculous, but the execution and scenario once inside the hotel made up for it. Well worth the 90 minutes if you're bored.

EDIT: Just realized that there was a first movie called the collector (which I didn't see) :lol guess I should watch that

Somebody in my office just said the exact same thing about Prisoners. I don't think I'm up for dealing with all that right now, but it sounds like a good movie if you're in the right mood.

truth.  I definitely came out of the theater thinking....damn maybe I shouldnt have watched that. It just left me disappointed in humanity.  GREAT movie for sure though no denying, it has to be Oscar nominated.

Been on a real "I want to smash Anna Kendrick vibe" as of late... about to watch the 2009 film Up In The Air for the first time. 8o

Excellent movie and she's great in it. Vera Farmiga is pretty hot in it too. Slow and a little depressing at times, but a quality flick. I recommend ... and I'm generally a big fan of George Clooney.

Review: Gravity - Space becomes Sandra Bullock's Magnum Opus as Alfonso Cuarón Delivers a Masterpiece For the Ages - http://wp.me/p2CCWq-3iv

Thanks for the review (as always). Will rep you when the site allows me again (over my limit). What sucks is my dept manager is taking his staff to see this on Friday(we saw Man Of Steel last quarter) but I'm off so I can travel to my son's soccer tournament. He's letting me go so it the following Friday at noon. As soon as I read sometime ago that Cuaron was doing this movie & it was releasing this year, it was the movie I'm most excited to see this year.

Just caught HBO's Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight which explored the supreme court ruling on Ali's conscientious objection to fighting in Vietnam. Solid HBO flick. Hope Christopher Plummer get's a Golden Globe & an Emmy for his performance as Justice Harlan. His performance had soul. Good to see Baltimore's Barry Levinson acting too.

Folks, if any of you do or don't watch Marvels SHIELD on ABC, I direct your attention to the official thread and a little gif(t) to us all named Skye.

She = watery eyes folks.

No need to thank me, my gift to you.

Wes Anderson is one of the most influential voices from the past two decades of American cinema. A true auteur, Anderson is known for the visual artistry, inimitable tone, and idiosyncratic characterizations that make each of his films—Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Moonrise Kingdom—instantly recognizable as “Andersonian.” The Wes Anderson Collection is the first in-depth overview of Anderson’s filmography, guiding readers through his life and career. Previously unpublished photos, artwork, and ephemera complement a book-length conversation between Anderson and award-winning critic Matt Zoller Seitz. The interview and images are woven together in a meticulously designed book that captures the spirit of his films: melancholy and playful, wise and childish—and thoroughly original.
Well, that's about the coolest **** I've seen in awhile. Instant purchase.
