And to the guy that asked about Evil Dead. I watch a lot of horror films and it was pretty good compared to the others.

saw Lost in Translation for the first time a couple days ago, thought it was great. I loved the cinematography in the scenes where they were in the city, esp. the scenes when ScarJo went out exploring. makes me wanna go out and watch some more Bill Murray movies tho, ya'll have any recommendations?

But seriously, if you liked Lost in Translation I'd say check out Groundhog Day, Rushmore, Moonrise Kingdom, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Get Low, and Broken Flowers.

So, Clear History is (no surprise) pretty much just a long episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, with a bit more plot and more characters. It's funny though. If you like Curb, definitely worth a watch

Fruitvale Station was a great flick. Should finally be a coming out party for MBJ (& first time director Ryan Coogler)... I just hope MBJ picks good flicks. Really hoping he doesn't take that Rocky sequel.


Didn't realize the full trailer for The Best Man Holiday was released. Wifey & I are excited to see this...

But [COLOR=#red]Buddha[/COLOR], no more spoiling actually. That was literally the last scene in the episode.

Fruitvale was solid.

Michael B. Jordan Guy can act his *** off. His scenes with his little girl were great.

The ending with the daughter staring in the shower as her mom can't find the right words Just can't believe it was a true story, really. So crazy. For those in the area that remember vividly the moment you heard about it, what was that like? By the way, props to the actors on their reactions to his death. So genuine. So heartbreaking.

Criticisms: Script was pretty average at times though. So many forced "breh's" and "hella's" when it didn't seem in the flow of speak (especially the dog scene). Oscar standing up when the cops had them sitting in the train station was pretty dumb. Yeah, you're getting screwed over but what is standing up and doing what he did going to alter anything at that point? "I'm gonna fix this, breh". Disclaimer, I have no idea if that's part of the director's script or actual dialogue from the event, but yeah.

The movie was decent for me but got great around the time they got on the train all the way until the end.

On an unrelated note, I watched My Left Foot for the first time, and that's basically how I felt about it as I watched it. It was good but this kind of movie dealing with a handicapped person was more of a struggle at times than others. I know it was a based on a real person and story so I'm not even sure if DDL went full ****** with it at points.

That actual struggle was real though. I pick up things with my feet on the regular but writing and painting, sheeeeeeiiiiiiiit, truly admirable.

Posted in the Kick-*** 2 thread, but saw it today and it was okay. Lacked any cleverness or satire of the first one and replaced it with more gross gags and violence. Still found myself laughing a lot, Chloe Moretz was still the best part of the movie, but overall it was fine. If you loved the first one, it's worth a trip to the theater and you'll be entertained.

F me for living in the Bay, I take Bart everyday for work and school and still haven't seen Fruitvale. I did read somewhere (prolly in here?) that the Director is 27 its like his 3rd or 4th movie in his career and he's from Richmond CA. If you don't know the Bay probably the top 2 biggest "ghetto" cities here is Oakland and Richmond so the director showed our world perfectly because he's from there... the fashion, phrases, lingo everything. I havent seen the movie so I don't know if I can agree that there are a lot of "Hellas" or "breh's"

Saw Lovelace tonight and it wasn't too shabby. Peter Sarsgaard and Amanda Seyfried played their roles tremendously. Actually found it on DirecTV Cinema which caught me by surprise considering it just came out.
