Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Also seems like NBC is really going in biting off GoT (as well as Vikings and the Borgias) with that new show they got coming I seen commercials for. They managed to get Patrick Stewart, Jeremy Irons, and the guy that kinda looks like Sir Ian McKellen.

Miniseries called The Hollow Crown.

Big J... you helped me out and got me on the Arrested Development track before S4 was released.

Trying to catch up on Dexter right now, what next though? I'm sort of stuck and don't know whether to continue on to Season 3 of Sons, finish The Office, continue on to Season 2 of Entourage, continue on with Season 1 of Sherlock, or start Game of Thrones (even though I'm one episode in). There's a slew of other shows on my list too: House of Cards, The Americans, Top Of The Lake, Louie, Prison Break, Lost, Curb, Boardwalk, Six Feet Under, Mad Men.

Damn, stressful :lol

Fruitvale Station is the goods.

Shot really well, no real dull moments, and just an overall extremely solid movie.

9/10... check it out if you haven't.

1. Sherlock

2. House of Cards

3. Game of Thrones

I still need to check out Top of the Lake.

The Good Doctor with Orlando Bloom is pretty good. I caught it at first just to laugh at how he had his hair. Never seen him like that, use to how he usually has it in other movies.

How good is Sherlock? I know next to nothing about that particular series but I'm loving Miller's Sherlock in Elementary. I assume Cumberbatch is Sherlock?

@JPZx Going off what you mentioned and suggesting only what I've watched.

House of Cards
Louie (quick if you watch all seasons and you'll get a good laugh)
Boardwalk Empire
Game of Thrones
The Americans (only one season so far so you can get that done)
Mad Men
Curb (you'll need more laughs after the above)

Then this is really up to you:
For many only S1 of PB is great for others, it's the S1 and S2. I watched the whole thing plus the made for tv movie official ending and enjoyed it even though nothing matched the greatness of S1. After though, they do make up for it with the wild ride the characters go on.

I love Lost even with the bs final ending. You'll get endless ppl telling you it's trash cuz of it's ending cuz all they can focus on at this point is not getting answers or not being satisfied with the answers given. I wasn't just watching the show so I could get answers. The story and journey these characters go through is ******g amazing. So I'd say watch it just for that. Not that many John Locke's and Benjamin Linus' on television. The score is ******g great as well.

It's boggling how bad IM2 and IM3 were after how solid a flick Iron Man was :{

RDJ >

As a huge Iron Man fan I still can't believe how horrible the sequels were. I'm lightweight angry the general public doesn't hate those movies.

I can't really hate IM3. I feel IM2 was far worse. The whole angle of doing more Tony out the suit was different but not in a totally bad way for me.

I'd say hold off on Game of Thrones until the new season starts to creep up.. just because once you finish you'll be pissed when you have to wait for new eps. Same with The Americans, it's worth a watch, but you could wait until the next season is about to start.

I usually give priority to shows that are still on the air, just because I'd prefer to catch up and watch live. Miniseries can kind of be thrown in there whenever because you could knock out the whole show in a weekend (like I did with Sherlock and Luther.. which you should also watch).

Since it'll come back soonest, go with Boardwalk Empire. Then Mad Men since you could watch the final season live. Next, you could do Six Feet Under, House of Cards, Sherlock, in any order really.. throw in Curb, Louie, Entourage, Sons, for some laughs whenever the dramas get too heavy. I fell behind on Prison Break and never finished, but the first season is great.

Watched Admission with Paul Rudd and Tiny Fey this weekend. Disappointing. The performances were fine, but the plot managed to be both convoluted and predictable at the same time. Also much more of a dramedy, than a comedy, with only a couple parts that made me really laugh. I don't recommend it.

I put on Ted last night. Was funny at first but I couldn't finish it. Lost interest when things got serious.

Fruitvale Station...

Mannnn. :eek

Real tears brahs. Real tears...

Amazing movie. Amazing film.
Very tragic story. :(

Very proud of Coogler and MBJ's work...they did this story justice :hat

Both of them have such a bright future in Hollywood.

Unfortunate that Oscar Grant doesn't have a future...hope this brings a lot more awareness to the hole situation.

So I finally finished devil in the white city a few weeks ago. I can't remember if I posted it or not. should be required reading if you from Chicago or enjoy architecture. Or are interested in serial killers but it's much more about architecture

Also finished the first book in the star wars Thrwan series. I can see why people who read the book were so pissed about what they ended up with with episode 1

Finished a book called "Horns". This is the most "readable" book I've read since davinci code. What I mean by that is, many cliff hangers, simple language, modern. It's like a twighlight zone episode stretched out. I read it in like a week and a half. Yes game of thrones is more fun to read with crazy cliff hangers but that gets complicated. this is more simple. Guy wakes up with a hangover and horns growing out of his head. First half is better than the second as it always seems to be with these Stephen king type books. But the ending is definitly good enough. Has its share of predictable mome ts but enough twists and turns. Good read

Adding the new Stephen king book called joyland. Apparently its only releasing on paperback. 60 pages in and It has my interest. It's about an amusement park. Nice to see him back on track but I'm sure Ill hate the ending as I do with most of his books.

Still have a hundred pages in dune. Book is great but I feel like I have to concentrate more when I read it. It has a lot of depth and I find myself re-reading passages

Did you get to the Sam Jones/Flash Gotdon party scene? Best part of the movie, IMO.
yeah i turned it off maybe 20 minutes later. when ted tells mila it's all his fault and he'll go away. felt too predictable and formulaic at that point to move forward.

I hear you, the 1st 2/3rds of the movie are its strength, but they actually do throw a bit of a twist in toward the end when Giovanni Ribisi's character comes back. Maybe check it out at some point.

Yeah, Cumberbatch is Sherlock. I can appreciate Elementary just for the different dynamic between Holmes and Watson. Miller is pretty good in it, but Cumberbatch is on another level.

Apparently FX is going to have a comedy centric channel called FXX

It's always sunny and the league were picked up for another season plus legit, which is a good show that went under the radar for the most part
