She's right. Come at me phils.
As a huge kanye fan and hip hop enthusiast....I would say she has no idea who Tupac was

Kanye West is the most culturally important rapper right now
I think more people want to be Kanye than be Jay-Z though
Kanye can make you feel one way or the other
Jay-Z is like an impersonal machine
If there's one thing you might see from me consistently, it's that I'm just not one for hyperbole.
There is no legitimate gauge to support such a claim. So there is no "right". It's just an opinion.
Even things like "culture" and "importance" mean different things to different people.
So it's not even that I disagree with her opinion. She's entitled to it. I just disagree with that train of thought.
Crowning a "most ____, ____, EVER" in any category.....to me is a simpleton's way of thinking because there is rarely a metric of any kind to support such a thing.
Can we even call him a rapper? If you look at rap....Rakim completely changed how dudes rap in '87 (along with Kool Moe Dee to a lesser extent).
Beastie Boys and Rick Rubin and guys like Prince Paul and Dre changed how songs were produced.
Did artists like NWA, Wu-Tang, 50 not revolutionize music as we know it as well ("gangster rap" and the mixtape phenomenon)?
Artists like De La Soul, Outkast etc. brought an eclectic element to the music that likely influenced Kanye. Who were also incredibly popular.
If "culture" extends beyond music, is Jay not up there as well? A dude from Marcy who OWNS real **** and kicks it with the President?
It's these kinds of extremes that are always ridiculous to me. For me it's enough to say he's an incredibly talented artist.
Which I know.....makes me a "hater"
Aaah. When you said Yeezus>>> in 2013 you meant the album?
I'm not even going to touch that
I thought you meant Kanye himself and his "cultural importance". All these pet names for him had me confused.
My bad.
while we're on it - Ye to be awarded at the BET awards in 2015 - Visionary Award
Kanye West will be honored for his extraordinary contributions across the arts, including roles as a record producer, rapper, filmmaker and fashion designer. He's a multifaceted trailblazer and pioneer whose accomplishments are all marked by his unique and forward-thinking approach.
that's not the same thing at all.To say kanye is the most influential rapper would be essentially saying he is the best rapper.
Kanye has NEVER been the best rapper.
Let me preface my statements again by consistently saying I'm a huge kanye fan and have always been. Ever since people were questioning his sexuality for rocking pink polo's.
A lot of you guys put kanye on an extremely high pedestal because he put you on Jordan retros and had a hard to acquire Nike sneaker. I'm gonna need you guys to get a grip on reality
To say kanye is the most influential rapper would be essentially saying he is the best rapper.
We aint getting a new album or single in 2014... mark my words.
