OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES 2 (NOW AVAILABLE sorta)

Its a hard album to digest tbh, good but not easy on casual hip hop listeners.

So if I like this album does that make me an automatic Ye Stan?

if you rate it above college dropout, late registration, graduation, or twisted fantasy that means you a day late and a dollar short

bandwagon kanye "i just found out about this ***** cuz i copped da yeezy II's with my mom's credit card" fan.

Nah I ain't sayin all that. An I never liked kid cudi if it matters. A lot of ppl don't like "I am a god". Joint is flames to me. I could be caught up in the new moment.....I can't speak on replay value of this.

My boy coproduced I'm On It :hat

Not a big fan of Yeezus, but I gotta cop the album to support his first work.

Remember the name, Dom Solo. On his way to bigger and better things.

Listened to the whole thing on YT

Surprises Kim wasn't on any track bc they were ALL THAT BAD.

:{

Whether or not this album is for you... I still can't stop spinning it, and I will say this... this album at the gym!!! :x In a good way.

When the beat drops on "Blood on the leaves" :eek

I just can't rock with that Born Sinner at the gym, I do enjoy some of it, but there really isn't a single song on there that gets me hyped up the way Yeezus does...

Idk, I feel blood on the leaves is one of the best songs but also one of the greatest dissapointments. I don't like the way he added that beat after the first verse, still a good song.

odd, I thought the beat change is the best part of the song. If anything the autotune wailing for a full minute at the end is what ruined it :x

Random screams, heavy breathing are annoying af. And saying he is a god over n over again seems sad and wrong. Like "hey look at me, Im great" like, how insecure must you really be....
other than that, the beat sound epic.

Not to bring religion in this

But what exactly makes someone insecure if their REALLY feeling as if their great.... Now i'm not saying that i know how he feels but if the man genuinely feels that way bout himself that should be applauded

I know this is a lil outta left field but does anyone fully expect Ye to drop either WTT 2 with Jay or cruel summer 2 by summers end?

I mean with the way he was talking and the way Jay just announced a new album in two weeks i feel like that **** is just going to randomly pop up Very soon, Unless Ye really takes time off to be with his child but considering his music delves so deep into his life i think that might inspire him to make more music

Impending fatherhood, perhaps

i listen to other music genres and i still don't appreciate this album. it's just flat out weak. sales is crazy tho, guess he made this album to broaden his fanbase a little bit.

Still confused as to why Rolling Stone gave this album 4.5 stars and only gave the Roots udun 3.5

Makes no sense to me. Both were "experimental" albums, but one of them actually told a story. It was brilliant to me and not a bunch of lazy lyrics over hard production.

If I was to rate the Kanye albums, I'd go:

Graduation
LR
CD

MBDTF

808's/Yeezus

Well jay drops July 4th, so I don't think a wtt 2 will be out( they really need to take time with that anyways and Nas better be on that too for a true wtt record)
Cruel Summer 2 is hard to say, maybe a Cruel Winter album could be in the works tho
I like this album even though its all over the place, I enjoy both cole and ye,I am just in a small minority, kanye shrug
Edit: I just downloaded " Down for my ...." Just because of Botl
That song went so hard back in the day
R.I.P. Mr.Magic

People really like Graduation like that? I dont mess with it at all, that and 808s are the two worst KanYe albums IMO. I already ranked them earlier in this thread butLate Registration, MBDTF,CD,Yeezus, Graduation, and way way way way way way back in last place is 808s

I Am A God is cool, one of the better songs on the album, but that whole "I just talked to Jesus he said what up Yeezus" last verse is just terrible.

Don't kill me but I Wonder is a top 3 song from Kanye. One of his true forgotten gems.

Just for that one song, I like graduation the most out of all his albums.

Fantano's review is ok. He is biased.

I just would love to know what people expected out of this. I never go into a Kanye album expecting to be blow away by the lyrics. He has always had corny punch lines sprinkled in with some ranting and raving. That is Kanye....so guess whats on this album....the same thing. What i did expect from this album was top notch production....what did i get....top notch production.

I understand music is subjective and this is right in my lane musically (i love the abrasive drums/beats ala Deathgrips, P.O.S., other grunge rap inspiration) so i am kinda bias. I also like kid cudi's singing which apparently a lot of people hate but it doesn't bother me. I think the blood on the leaves production is exceptional. The soul sample balance with the TNGHT sample....insane. That being said i can't wait for these beats to make the mixtape circuit because i love them all and his lyrics are just mediocre.

But I just don't get what people expected. I go into a lupe album expecting great lyricism...and when i get Lasers....im pissed...i go into a jedi mind tricks album expecting brutal in your face rhymes about being muslim and guns and some conspiracy....i get servants in heaven kings in hell....im pleased. I got what i wanted out of Yeezus...i give it an 8/10...since i only skip 2 songs normally

Hell yeah.

Best Kanye album imo.

If Yeezus received 4.5, Undun should have received a 7. That record is flawless.

Yeezus is good, not for everyone and definitely not a 4.5.

For me CD > LR > MBDTF >Graduation > 808s > Yeezus.

I expected great production, great melodies, mediocre to good lyrics.

I didn't get any of those.
