Picked up nine more copies

I never understood why people bought multiple copies of the same album.

And that picture is the most hypebeast thing I've ever seen.

I think when giving a review we shouldn't forget to mention HOW we heard... whether bootleg, official copy, quality headphones, earbuds, car stereo, etc...

It holds true especially for an album like this... there are so many things about a song you notice with good headphones vs in the car or just playing through pc or laptop speakers..

See everytime I buy an album or DL a mixtape, the headphone test is the first thing I use. To me you get everything in it's purest form -- just that disc/file and your ears. That's where you can get the best judgment of music, whether it's Kanye, Snoop, MURS, Boosie or Tech N9ne. Nobody can bother you and your distractions are minimal, so you can absorb everything out of there vs playing it in your car, playing it on your laptop while watching tv, or it just being in the background while studying or something.

If your a fan of late 90' nine inch nails or early 2000's euro pop rap like grime this is the kanye album for you

Mixed with reggae and trap music

I still think guit trip is the best song on the album
I also think this is great change for rap and music in general

:x :x :x "change" =/= automatic masterpiece

So good hip hop sounds safe now?

Though I don't have J. Cole's album, I'd take consistent solid safeness over elaborate grandiosity any day.

So it's an automatic 9.5 off the strength of it being Kanye, then?

But I guess I'm not listening to it as a monumental moment in pop music.

Bruh it's 2013. Anything that's different or weird from the norm is automatically great or cool. You didn't know that?

:lol :lol Basically. And if you don't like it, then you solely listen to rap, live in a bubble and are uncultured scum.

If you say this sound like 808' or If you say Bound 2 is the only decent song on this the album just wasn't made for you.  Go listen to his old **** if that's all you like.  From someone that is able to grasp musical concepts besides soulful samples and raw hip hop I can appreciate what this album is I didn't know anyone listened to Kanye for profound lyrics it's always been his ability to bring everything together sonically.  I feel he does that on this album, and as you start hearing other artist make similar sounding records with electro new wave samples we will know why....

Aaaaaaaand here we go with the Stanley Elitlson replies. This album is no some cryptic masterpiece (and it doesn't have to be), and you are not that special :lol

What's crazy to me is Rolling Stone gave this 4.5 stars and gave a TRUE concept album like The Roots' Undun, 3.5 stars :{

What am I missing here?

Lolol why don't you just stay in the J. Cole thread bud this album has seemed to cut deep on a personal level.

No need to continuously compare the two albums trying to stir up controversy seeing as how they're both completely different.
You're right one is straight dumpster juice and the other is goose poured over the rocks...maybe a little cranberry to go with it.

Yo.....this picture is basically the definition of consumerism.

Like, this is basically the exact opposite of what Kanye said Yeezus is about.

Just.....so much frivolity.

Not judging though. You prob got more money than me so you are automatically validated in whatever you do.

yo i dunno yo

Honestly, I like it because it is different from the norm

The album has a mix of everything, a really good mashup of different genres

It also helps people listen to genres outside their comfort zone...

Its like watching Bo Jackson switch from football to baseball. Or maybe MJ would be a better comparison.

I don't think I'll ever reach the point of ever considering the album great, but it has gotten better as I listen to it more. I've fallen out of favor with Cudi, but enjoyed his contribution to Guilt Trip.

I think this is the worst display of lyricism Kanye has displayed on any of his albums.

As of now, I believe this is his 4th best album; better than Graduation. Disappointed, but I do like it.

LR > MBDTF > CD > Yeezus.

:lol at a comparison to an album by The Roots that was released in 2011. There were people stressing how much better it was to WTT then.

i love daft punk, justice, ed banger, sebastiAn, floyd, clash etc...and this album still sounds a mess.

People acting like hard house music and hip hop have never been mixed before...the idea was great but the performance on the album really let down the production side.

I would even dare to say that owl pharaoh>yeezus

Dudes talking about this what they play in clubs were the dress code almost tells them you blacks ain't welcome here

I dont know then
