I read you gotta change the time zone on your Activision account + your xbox account which is too much work.

i'll just wait till 12 lol

I saw people doing it with only Xbox but they might changed some stuff. I agree with you though, it’s just too much work for me

Oddly enough, I stopped at the base Exchange here in Korea and they’ve had physical copies on sale since Monday. I was wondering if you could even play it now. It’s using COD HQ so I wasn’t sure if the servers were already active.

My download of Black Ops 6 finished, I start up the game and I've apparently been permbanned.
No explanation, no ability to play the game.

I can't file a ban appeal ticket on Activision's website either because I get an error page when I try to sign in. Both my Activision account AND signing in through Xbox result in that error.
Logging in is required to file an appeal ticket so I'm effectively permbanned from Black Ops 6 for no apparent reason or ability to get it repealed.

I haven't played CoD in months and I'm not banned on any other CoD game. I'm seeing identical complaints on Reddit etc too from people who instantly got permbanned upon starting up Black Ops 6.

I reset the password of my Activision account and now when I try to sign in, it says "invalid combination."
Attempting to sign in through Xbox still results in the error page.

What a joke

The error page:

That’s wild. I’ve seen there’s been issues with the anti cheat. I hope you didn’t “pay” for the game and downloaded through Game Pass. That still sucks but I’d be irate if I spent $70 on a game and couldn’t play.

Can you explain SBMM to me? I thought I knew what it was but the way people complain about it, I have to be wrong

I assumed that you get paired up with and against people that is similar to your skill. Your skill is based off of your stats.

From what I see if you’re rolling for a few games it’ll put you in lobbies with dudes that have high KD but pair you up with low skill guys. Just makes it unenjoyable if you’re having run running through people competitively.

I assume the underlying metric SBMM uses is the ELO system. It's a bit much to explain ELO so googling it would serve you better than me attempting to explain it.

Broadly speaking you're not wrong about SBMM. The issue is that if you're skilled, you're eventually not going to be able to have a relaxing game of Call of Duty. Every match will be full of players playing like they're in the CoD world series finale.

SBMM is less of an issue for lower skilled players, but highly skilled players literally can't have a relaxing match where they don't have to try their heart out.
This often results in "smurfing", a term used to describe playing on an alternate account that starts from the bottom of SBMM.

Yes, they can. They just won't maintain high level stats that they got by stomping lower skilled players.

Smurfs go just as hard as they do on their main account. Let's be real. They want to rack up massive numbers, and when they can't do that, they result to smurfing.

Of course Smurs do so, those are people trying to farm clips by pubstomping low skilled players.

The average skilled player gets screwed the most. We have to deal with both Smurfs and constantly having to try our hardest to win. If I want to play with a friend who is far more skilled, I have to deal with every match being way above my skill level due to the difference in SBMM.

I played 1000s of matches at the highest level in Halo 3, but guess what? I could go to the Social playlist without SBMM forcing my not so skilled friends into a brutal beatdown.

SBMM is a horrible system that should be removed entirely or drastically toned down.

Ok so I wasn’t wrong and it’s just people upset about not being able to smash on folks who have a family and a job

I'm not highly skilled or anything but I do think it kinda kills the variety in the kinds of matchups you're going to get

What do people that have a problem with SMBB expect their opponents to play like? If you're in a try hard lobby that means you also play like a try-hard 😂. The reality is you're as good as those people that you're upset about. People less skilled than you see you the same way as you see them.

I mean I get that. But imagine how it feels when you spend $70 on COD but can’t spend all day grinding unlocks but go against semi pro players when you do get a chance to load up. That’s tough. That’s why games like Fortnite implemented bots to level the playing field. I personally don’t need to go against bots but I’d also like to play against people who aren’t spending all day playing nonstop and watching YT videos looking for the latest meta :lol

na, neither of you understand it. at least cods SBMM.

if youre a skilled player and sbmm kicks in, youre not playing a game where its close. you're playing a game where you get completely destroyed.

you cant try hard. youre getting ****** all game and the game is a complete blowout everytime.

this is bc sbmm doesnt give you teammates that are around the same skill level as you. they only give you a full party of ENEMIES that are on your level and give you much less skilled players.

at that point, its a 1-2 skilled players vs 5-6 skilled players.

the idea is that if you have one good game, you have to get destroyed the next.

its a meme in the cod community to log off the game after having a good game bc sbmm is gonna make sure you get your **** kicked in the next game.

exactly this. they give you the worst teammates and expect you to be able to go 1 v 6 against a full party of people who are skilled.

if they actually gave me teammates who were around the same level as me and my opponents, I wouldnt mind. but thats not the case.

Either way I still can’t play the damn game due to the permanent ban nonsense.
They STILL have an error page when you try to sign in on your Activision account or through Xbox.

Because I can’t sign in due to Activision’s extreme incompetence, I can’t even file a support ticket and/or ban appeal.

Literally nothing I can do besides hoping someone with a functioning brain tries to fix the countless cases of players getting instant permanent bans on Black Ops 6.

I’m lucky this **** is on gamepass but think about all the people on other platforms who paid full price.

It’s a straight up scam

I’m not highly skilled at all, in fact I’d consider myself garbage at CoD. I used to have a k/d of around 1.50 in CoD4, MW2, … but with age I gradually got worse in each new CoD iteration.

1.50 k/d was nothing special to begin with but hovering aound a k/d in the previous CoD that barely scrapes above 1.0 shows I am utter garbage at this game and by no means a skilled player. My k/d would regularly dip into under 1.0, so I might as well have been lobotomised.

Despite being so trash at the game, I’m not getting those lobbies with supposedly roughly equally bad opponents. More often than not, my teammates are even worse than I am besides 1 or 2 and the other team is vastly superior.

In your scenario, the ‘family man with a job” would be me, minus the family.

SBMM definitely sucks. You string together a few good games and then you have to play against the 73-9 Warriors for a week straight. Every game devolves into Team Deathmatch because you're getting slaughtered and most players don't play the objective regardless.

SBMM I have come to accept.

Skill based damage adjustment MID GAME is wild and super frustrating.
