OFFICIAL THE WIRE THREAD.. ''The game is the game"

Season 2 was snooze worthy. Nothing wrong with favoring the hood/police part over the political/docks side.

i agree, i thought hwas even MORE annoying on Generation Kill.  I cant stand that actor.

Too much ripped fuel...

Not to derail the thread but I was hoping him and Captain America would've been IED'd

Is that what it is now

If you like season two your an idiot, if you hate season 2 you didn't understand the series. Lol interwebz.

^
People always have to throw an insult if you don't agree with them. Those are the internet rules. I didn't like season 2, which means I didn't like season 2. Some can't accept a simple opinion like that.

McNaulty, Mike, Stringer, Omar, Chris
Unless I was committed, I would skip over season 2 upon rewatching.

Season 4

3>5=1>2

Season 2 is essential to the entire series - you find out who the real kingpin of Bmore is and you see what causes a fatal rift between Stringer and Avon, you also see how a stained glass window leads to alot of misfortunes for Frank.

Skip and you're going to miss a lot of character development
Thank you

the writing on season 2 was amazing

frank setting up a meet and walking into his own demise

franks need to one up a cop and his son feeling unaccomplished tore an entire drug enterprise apart

it had one of the slowest build ups but had some amazing parts to it

Weebay was that dude

I'm watching the series over again for like the 7th time :lol and dude was always down to ride.

I really don't think that many people disliked season 2. It was good, just my least favorite.

Spoiler: (if needed lol)
I'm sure it's been brought up here, but little man not being scared of Omar for the whole series and then offing him in the end was :hat

Does Hd change the storyline? I get it, but I don't. Like if I already had the seasons I wouldn't care, but since I don't id drop the extra five a season for hd...like why not.

As far as season 2... It was cool, not great.
Important things:

The Greek
Stringer 'going straight'
Deangelo dying
Avon getting out...well about to get out

I think that's it.
Yes it does.

In the HD version, Stringer never dies, Bubs ODs, Pryz dies in a school shooting, Bunk gets Meka preggo, and Prop Joe lives to see another day, along with several other changes like Carcetti banging the black chick that wants to be mayor.

It's a whole different series.

You mean Kenard? Little Man, another character, got killed by Weebay after Kima got shot in season 1.

I just recently finished The Wire

Catching all the poupular GIF's cracked me up :lol

End of Season 3 (and the demise of my favorite character) hit my soul deep...

I need to man up and start Season 4 already.

funny things is season 2 might be a little slow but its real good and had a real good concept. My least fav. was season 5. I havent disliked the character Templeton since Brad in Se7en. everything about him on the show i hated.

I wondered who else disliked season 5 more than season 2. Seems we are in the minority.

Word. Season 5 was pretty weak. Going through this series again and I'm really looking forward to 2. Gets better every time I run through this series.

I really liked 5

Good journalism angle, and pretty comedic :lol

I always :lol at the quiet "Just because it happened, doesn't mean its news!"

Not to mention Marlos response to "My name is not my name" happened

'Just because it happened, doesn't mean it's news' who said that? I like it a lot.

Gus's whole demeanor just kills me in season 5 :lol

But I could definitely understand someone not liking season 5. McNulty took the egotistical insubordination way too far & the newspaper stuff might've been dull to some.
