***Official Tattoo Thread: Inked-4-Life Vol.2***

Took my 18yr old son to get his first tatt. Whole forearm. Work is ok but not spectacular. He didn't ask for numbing cream though

This is dope man. If i ever become a parent, this is a first experience i look forward to having.

What did he get?

He into Japanese culture so he got a samurai under a waterfall with a red sun in the sky. Like I said, it was a young artist but he picked him so I let him roll with it. Here's a pic...

I think we can all look at our first tattoos and highly critique them. It's not the worst tattoo. With my first tattoo, I was so impatient. I wanted to get it done asap and hated I had to wait a month....and I was 28 at the time. There are only so many people that I know that did it right with there first tattoo.

I remember seeing a young that had a massive torso tattoo that matched the one her boyfriend had. Almost like the kiss of death for a relationship.

My co workers first tattoo was a drunk experience with her boyfriend where they both got a small puzzle piece that fit into each other. Needless to say, they are no longer together. Haha.

At least they can say they support autism awarness

LOS ANGELES area recs....?

What's up ya'll. Looking for a dope/legit L.A. area artist in August. Would of course love to get Jun Cha or Mister Cartoon but that's not happening. Looking to get...

Grey/black work.
Scorpion.
Palm trees.
Sun rays.

Been digging/looking around but haven't found anyone I'm in love with yet. Appreciate any help.

Sir...thank you so much. I will look into these when I'm done with work. Appreciate it.

It's hard AF to find a good artist in the Carolinas. If one moved in this area, they'd make a killing.

Man there are so many good artists in the LA area. I would just search on IG and find someone you like.

I know, and that's why I'm asking. It's overwhelming and hard to choose.

Was seeing if folks in here had personal experiences/connections to particular artists in the area.

I have plenty of bad tattoos, but my first couple/few were definitely my worst. My next will be a big, bold blast-over to mostly cover a couple of those early ones. The worst are 20 years old now, so they're a bit faded and will hopefully work well with a good blast-over. I don't regret getting them, but wish I would have gotten better and different ones.

Finished my blackout sleeve last week..Gotta start working on the new white ink sleeve design soon..Gonna get a couple small random things before the summer hits..Thinking of pulling the trigger on the AM90 Infrared/Bacon piece I’ve been thinking about..

regarding first tattoo… the talent pool was definitely smaller back then too. it’s not until recently where the number of top level artists are now more available.

like Fong$tarr Fong$tarr said few posts back, you no longer need to travel half way around the world to get good work done anymore

I been wanting to get a realistic basketball next to the hoop I have on my calve

All healed. Inner arm was annoying lol.
Just curious....why the two different transportation lines?

I feel like I know the answer to this but I am going to ask anyways. Is there cultural appropriation with tattoos and different races? Asian tattoos get a pass amongst all races for the most part but what if I wanted say a Mexican inspired tattoo when I am Chinese? Is that just not good practice or just depends on the tattoo design?
