***Official Tattoo Thread: Inked-4-Life Vol.2***

Oh okay, I see. Had to go to like 4 different places to get one question answered

Agreed.  I left min wrapped through the night and showered as soon as I woke up.  My artist recommended hot water as hot as you could take it a couple of times a day, then aquaphor.  I actually used coconut oil and it healed awesome!!

First 2 big arm pieces I left wrapped until got home and showered. Told me to use St. Ives collagen elastin lotion to keep it moisturized. Those healed quick with minimum scabbing and no color lost. Also said don't use hot water cause it opens up pores and ink will fade, don't know if this is true.

On ankle wrap that was done couple months back, artist told me to keep it wrapped overnight and use aquaphor. Even said to wrap 2nd night also. After 4 days switched over to St. Ives. I think I over moisturized cause I broke out with white heads all over. The red color was only thing to scab, but white and yellow washed out and orange is light after healing. I need to setup a followup session and he said he'll use darker colors to see if that was the problem.

i got my first tattoo ever today. it's my parents' wedding date. i got it done at sacred rose tattoo in berkeley, ca.
You a girl or guy? Either way, kind of an odd placement which looks to be the middle of your back. Are the letter suppose to look shaky and uneven? Ive seen roman numerals where they are suppose to be kinda up and down and gives off a nice effect. Dont know if yours was intentional or...?

Trying to get the back of my neck done next month. May get some sort of pyramid/rose design.

Going to get a Mexican serpent but since the tattoo itself is circular not sure if I should get it on the middle of my chest or just the right side. Decisions

i thought the same thing initially, in regards to placement. but then i realized, who am i to make a judgement about where men and women should and shouldn't get tattoos placed.

no disrespect, as i generally agree with your sentiments in this thread. just a matter of where i stand on this particular topic.

waiting to hear back from an artist to go in for a consultation.  Looking to get a half sleeve of roses and most likely acanthus as the filler.  Do you guys think it would look too busy if I didnt go with color on the roses?  Obviously I am going to ask the artist, but hes pretty well booked and I was curious what yall thought.

Anyone from the Sacramento/Nor Cal area got any recommendations on spots? Looking to get a touch up, possibly a cover up in the near future.

Dope roses.

If money/job wasnt an issue, I woudve been had my neck tatted. Rose on one side and either a gypsy or a tiger head on the other.

Any good tattoo Artists in Vegas. Looking for one with Mexican influence in their work

Robert Pho is probably one of the baddest dudes I know with the pen.

Check out his work. Skindesigntattoos.com
Have you had any work done by him? Hitting up Vegas early next year and planning on getting something while I'm there

Estimate of how early for an appointment? DP cost? Total cost for most work? Sorry for all the questions bro.

Well I never got work from him, so I don't know how early of a appointment.

All I do know (base on what my co-worker told me) is he was booked all this year.

He charges between $200-250/hr.

Damn. And I thought $150 an hour was a bit steep.

I just saw Stewart Robson has an opening in SF. What are your opinions on thigh tattoos on guys. I don't want to touch my other arm or back and am thinking a jammer on my thigh would be cool. Just not sure.

i see nothing wrong with thigh tattoos on men (or any part of the body, for that matter). was thinking about getting a half sleeve above my knees, from the knee to right above the quad.

btw, i've always lurked this thread for many many moons and always wondered, Fong, are you a tattoo artist yourself?

It should look okay depending on what you get.

Haha. Not even close. Used to draw a lot as a kid but I can't do anything artistic anymore. Just a fan for the most part. That's about it.

After thinking, a tattoo on a thigh has to be big so I think I am scratching that off or saving it for later. Not sure where to get a small piece on my body. I am sure these slots will fill in by the time I call the shop but I just don't want to get something and regret it later.
