OFFICIAL STOCK MARKET AND ECONOMY THREAD VOL. A NEW CHAPTER

DJT (Trumps media company) has been going down pretty steadily. His vesting opens up 09/25/24 to sell his stock shares. Isn't it apparent he's just going to sell shares sooner rather than later after that date?

Watching the cope on reddit after GME's earnings call is sad. So many people with no idea what they're doing.

Opened positions in carter's, children's place, and bark.
Added to sony, gamestop, and bigcommerce.

Built pretty large positions in carter's and children's place since this post. Children's place up almost 200% this week.
Added to gamestop, nike, and honest.

What was your reasoning for the childrens place play?

I agree, the market is doing fine, no need to rush things.

Imagine being a bear still. Imagine leaving returns on the table cause you wanna stand behind conspiracies. Imagine wasting money on hedges. Imagine

Expecting first child in January and started to look at stocks related to baby/kid stuff. Wife has been shopping from Carter's and Children's Place. Children's Place looked like absolute garbage at the time so held off on it. Then they announced new ownership but still took me over a month later to open a position. Considered as a high risk-high reward play.

I usually invest with the intent to hold long term so it kind of sucks when it jumps so much not long after opening a position. Usually I didn't buy enough and will now have to consider selling for a short term gain. Luckily I managed to build a pretty large position in the last 2 months. Added some more this morning. We'll see how it goes.

I used to have a strategy back then to buy stocks that have pretty much flatlined in a 1+ year span. Similar to Childrens Place.

Dumb strategy, but more often than not it worked

I stopped doing it now, just don't like checking all the time, but for example Beyond Meat was one I thought about more recently.

Good strategy in a bull market. Money flows into stocks that aren't complete piles of **** that look undervalued vs stocks that have flown. Money also flows into pieces of ****, but that usually doesn't last as long. How long will the bull last? Nobody knows but it's an election year so let's fly until January.

Unrelated, opened a baby position in SMH today using HIMS profits. 5 shares let's gooooo. With Nvidia slipping 10% in the past 3 months, this being September before an election, and said election coming that'll either dump tons money into the semiconductor space, or dump tons and tons of money into the semiconductor space, feel like now's a good time to get any exposure I can.
