:::OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

A little something that I'm working on. A sole swap project. I won't finish until the end of the year. I just wanted to clean the bottom soles.

Update:

I managed to separate the midsoles from the bottom soles on the White cement Spizikes.

Here is what I have so far.

There is still some remnants of the crumbled midsole. I intend to take it out with a blow dryer and scrape it off with a spoon.

lowtech for the win guise.

And does anyone know what I should do about this on my Varsity Red 6s ?
Try Angelus paints.  If youre gonna order from the website i recommend buying different hues of red they have as outside of black and white almost every color I have painted on a shoe had to be custom mixed with other colors to match.

Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about these scuffs on my Metallic Silver Foamposite pros ?

Depends on the scuff.  If its just a surface scratch and beneath those marks there's still the silver material I have used a Magic eraser on all my half cents and foams but make sure to use water and don't be too rough as it can create a dull spot if you're not careful.

Anyone know of a good line of finishers to match the Matte finish on the 4's and that glossy finish like that on the 7's?  Tried the Angelus matte and high gloss finisher and its trash.  Both look about the same when applied to the topcoat.

Go look into your local Walmart in the paint aisle and look for this guy. This is what I use to make my shiny midsoles into matte.

It's translucent and is flexible.

Somewhat a before and after picture. I still need to repaint the soles. Other than that, they're practically done! Glued and stitched!

Clean swap man, definitely keep us posted! Personal pair or for a customer?
Thank you! And it's from my own collection. Sucks that I made the cracking on the back heel worse :( The other shoe is fine.

I'll update with further progress. Good luck with everyone's restorations and God Bless!

Just glue it back on.....

Its a bit harder to glue a toecap back on then any other part of a shoe. Ive ruined almost everyone that I have tried. It always ends up uneven and with gaps. So I suggest you call somebody

came in here looking for something like this, bought it today. Repainting the Military 4s tonight, going good so far. I sanded the paint off because the Acetone route was taking foreverrrrrrrr. Lookin good so far though.

Sorry been busy lately moving to a new phone (BTW THE Samsung Galaxy Gs3 is amazing **coming from an ex-iphone user**

ANYWAYS... Here's some work I've been doing recently for clients..

First a full restore on 2001 bred 11's, I removed both soles since they were separating and the old glue had dried out, Decreased, whitened, made the soles a more "true red" and removed lint balls and swapped laces with new ones.

Next is a pair of OG 1997 Cherry 12's (sorry lost the before pictures so they aren't the same angles :{ and lighting) but you can see the difference, again reglued soles, repainted everything etc.

to show the damage of the old "glue" that the previous owner had attempted...

after....

some retr0brite work....

Nice work on those Breds up there.  I have my CDP's in really good condition with the exception that the 23 completely peeled off. Was thinking of trying that iron on method but haven't pulled the trigger.  Don't even own a printer lol.   If anyone has tried it your feed back would be appreciated.

I have an am a stickler for detail, it looked good but no matter how close you cut it you can still tell it's ironed on (as the black screen paper has a different finish/texture).

That's what I was thinking.  However they manage to screen print it on its like raised above the rest of the material and its a thicker platic looking material.

Need a little help , I was cleaning the sole when I noticed that some of the dirty soap suds rolled onto the suede and got it wet . I thought it was just clear up after the suede would dry but i was was wrong . Apparently the stain never disappeared , I don't know what to do ? Your help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks in advance

Walmart  and most other stores that sell shoes sell suede cleaner.  Might want to try that but make sure u don't just only clean that one spot vigorously tho and not the rest as it might make a light spot where the stain was.

Try scrubbing it again with JUST water. Dry it with a towel and let me know the results.

The dried suds may be causing the discoloration. By removing the dried suds, you'll also be removing the darker shades of the stain
