Official Slam Dunk Jordan Release Thread

I was on the fence about these at first.  Saw someone rockin these at SneakFest in Memphis last weekend and they look dope in person.

I may try to snag a pair on release day.

Besides the Black INfrared , these are the first Jordan's I knew I had to have and would pay whatever I had to to own. Just glad I got them for $450 because an hour later and the cheapest I can find is $580. Cheapest in my size is $1000.

The quality is amazing. I wear my kicks and these I will not be looking  forward to  adding to the cycle, especially with the sole on these things. By the time I get these on my feet everything will be yellow. Shame they couldnt make the tounge and back hoop like a khaki color or something, or even a thick white, anything but what they have done

Alright so I apologise to who this offends, but the Australia market for kicks has always been the same pricing as USA, if not cheaper sometimes. e.g Carmine 6's resell at $200 USD.

So surely some of you find these pricings that are getting higher and higher everyday, interesting. Surely it speaks voumes. The last photo showed them around $550. One day later and ..............

You do realise tho that colorway doesn't play a role in slam dunk series. I mean, dude wore white/infrared 6's, but we get full on Varsity red.

Apparently dude did the images as though continuing the story. Dude was benched for injury last time he was seen and creator imagines him to be working out and getting strong again, so this is apparently the story continuing... Not sure where I read that.

actually.. that would be pretty smart of takheiko to use this collaboration with Jordan Brand to build the hype for Slam Dunk 2... lol been waiting for that ish since 1997

Yes he was injured. and Yes again this is a good time to hype the Slam Dunk 2 if there will ever be, like now they are in Junior and the Seniors are gone, I want to see how they progress since they are like the Heads of the Shohoku Basketball now that they are Junior.

the only problem is, is slam dunk 1 perfect as it is.. does it need a sequel? me and my buddies always debate this, and they all think you shouldn't mess with a masterpiece..

I am not sure if it has been discussed here or not, but I heard today that the box you guys have been seeing with the artwork is an Asia only release box. The other regions will get the standard JB box. I haven't seen that anywhere else, but I was told that this is the case. It initially made no sense to me, but these do cost more in Asia (Japan, China, Australia, etc). They will retail for $250USD, but are 31,000yen in Japan, Over $300AUSD, and over 34,000 in China. All of that equals to about a $270-280 USD release. I guess in the end if true, the special box equals out to a $20-30 increase.

For comparison, the Cigar and Champagne VIs retailed for $250 in the states, but sold for 27,000yen in Japan. This was in June, and Japan won't see their JB price hike until December. Again, I am not saying this is the gospel, but just what was passed along to me.
